Job Purpose:

The REACH field officer, under the supervision of the Field Manager, is responsible for implementing projects related to REACH assessments and coordinating the communication between the data collection partners and the different research units.

Objectives:

The REACH field officer, under the supervision of the Field Manager, objectives are :

  • Will be responsible for implementing projects related to REACH assessments
  • Coordinate the communication between the data collection field teams through the data collection partners and the different REACH Amman-based research units.
  • Monitoring, performing and maintaining the data cleaning-related communication and file sharing between the field teams (through the data collection partners) and Amman-based research units.

Duties and Responsibilities:

A. Coordination and project implementation:

  1. Coordinate with the field manager to ensure the implementation of projects through participation in planning, implementation, and follow-up to ensure quality.
  2. Coordinate with the data collection partners on the detailed data collection plans in their respective areas.
  3. In coordination with the field manager and the different research units, plan the training needs for the new assessment and identify the need for refresher training and capacity-building sessions for the ongoing regular assessments.
  4. Notify the field manager and the relevant departments of any anticipated delays or challenges facing the implementation of the data collection.
  5. Design and facilitate capacity-building training as needed for the field enumerators.
  6. Gather feedback from the research units and design, facilitate and report back contextualization sessions as needed to ensure that the research units have the context-related information to enrich the REACH outputs.
  7. Cross-checks information accuracy of submitted data and conducts spot-checks.
  8. Ensure the quality of the data and review feedback after each field data collection process and act as a focal point to share the data quality follow-ups with the field teams and gather them back, check the completion and clarity of the provided feedback, the n share them back with the relevant research unit’s focal point.
  9. To support the GIS/Data units in checking and validating the geo-referencing of all surveys conducted in the field as required by the field data collection teams.
  10. Any other task requested by management.

B. Reporting:

  1. Providing regular reports to the Field Manager at frequent intervals on the progress of the implementation of the assessment activities and relevant observations during the mission.
  2. Reporting directly to the research units’ focal points and field team focal points whenever requested.
  3. To ensure a regular, effective, and comprehensive transmission of information to supervisors.

C. Supervising and Management:

  1. Following the detailed data collection plans, oversee the data collection process by the data collection partners, including overseeing and enhancing, when necessary, the data collection progress tracking tools.
  2. Maintain a feasible balance between the available capacity and the required implementations to make sure an efficient and effective implementation of the data collection.
  3. In coordination with the field manager, contribute with inputs to the overall performance review of the data collection partners regularly.

Key Performance Indicators:

  • 80% success rate of coordinating with the data collection partners
  • 90% success rate of full and timely rounds of data quality follow-up and feedback

ACTED's proposed monthly salary: 1059 JOD's

QUALIFICATIONS:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Fluency in Arabic; Intermediate spoken and written English.
  • Academic degree
  • Excellent command of excel and mobile data collection platforms (ODK, Kobo)
  • At least 3 years of total experience.
  • 2 Years of experience in a relevant field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in NGOs/humanitarian sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or at least some tertiary study.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Completed related humanitarian/management pieces of training (food security, protection, WASH, project management etc)
  • Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as well as the ability to plan, take initiative and organize work independently.
  • Ability to build and sustain relationships with team members and interviewees in the field as well as the local authorities like camp managers/HAOs…etc.
