Beauty and Personal Care Category Manager Levant & Iraq
Main Purpose of the Role
Beauty & Personal Care is the largest category within Unilever comprising of five small Cs Skin Cleansing, Hair Care, Skin Care, Oral Care & Deos. It is a growing business with iconic global brands like Dove, Lux and Sunsilk amongst others.
The BPC team is a core team with an exciting agenda. Responsible for leading region level category strategy, running regional innovations and handling complex global rollouts in addition to also being responsible for localizing new global Masterbrand’s to the region across the small Cs.
This is a team that adds value to the business via deep and astute consumer & category understanding & identifying upcoming trends. This is then further finetuned with sharp business acumen leading to defining portfolio and project workstreams to accomplish the ambition of BPC.
The ideal candidate should have an analytical mindset with strong quantitative reasoning skill and a demonstrated ability to think strategically about complex issues leading to thoughtful recommendations & action plans. At the same time also be creative and operate entrepreneurially & be a strong collaborator to navigate across a matrix of cross functional teams with a delivery mindset. Prior experience of digital & data driven marketing and e-commerce will be a major advantage.
Job Main Responsibilities
- Plan the BPC Strategy for Levant & Iraq based on market trends, consumer, shopper understanding & company’s vision.
- Lead- align and monitor marketing campaign from planning to execution and activation plans-
- Execute marketing- advertising and promotions that are consistent with brand goals and objectives-
- Understand consumers’ needs- identify relevant insights- monitor food market trends and track key consumers to develop tailored action plans-
- Closely cooperate with international marketing teams- Shopper Marketing- Sales and finance
- Develop an understanding of market- competition- consumers and customers through the analysis of market and consumer research-
- Develop and update the consumer portrait and shape consumer engagement funnel for brands-
- Develop best in class campaign ideas and builds strong execution plans- stays in contact with regional and global teams-
- Monitor and analyze market share trends and competitive activities-
- Manage the development and implementation of brand plans- responsible for the performance- endurance and strategic alignment-
- Define local strategic targets given the global positioning of brands and local consumer insights-
- Manage brand P&L and drive corrective actions to achieve business objectives-
- Compile plans and suggest improvements- in collaboration with stakeholders.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and/or above in relevant field-
- +8 years of core marketing experience in the FMCG sector
- Prior digital marketing experience
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Passionate for Beauty, Personal Care & New trends
- Result driven and consumer oriented
- Experience working in a multicultural and diverse environment
- Strong organizational- planning- and coordination skills
- Proactive approach in resolving problems and challenges
- Demonstrated experience in conducting business across multiple- complex projects & strategies
