Jordan Water Efficiency and Conservation Activity (WEC)
The Jordan Water Efficiency and Conservation Activity (WEC) funded by USAID/Jordan and implemented by Tetra Tech ARD (http://www.tetratech.com/intdev) is currently accepting expressions of interest for qualified candidates to fill various positions. The purpose of the WEC Activity is to increase water use efficiency and conservation in Jordan by applying commercial incentives to the agriculture, industrial, and the municipal sectors and strengthening the Government of Jordan (GOJ) governance over irrigated agriculture.
Tetra Tech seeks experienced candidates for the following position:
Partnerships Specialist – Industry and Commercial sectors
The Partnerships Specialist – Industry and Commercial will work with the suppliers of water conservation technologies to create commercial partnerships across Jordans industrial and commercial sectors leading to the increased demand and supply of water saving and conservation technologies and techniques. Under the supervision of the Strategic Partnerships Lead, the main focus of this role is to support establishment of lasting commercial partnerships that result in increased demand and dissemination of water conservation technologies and practices in Jordan’s industrial and commercial sectors. Specifically, the Partnerships Specialist – Industry and Commercial will:
- Identify and assess potential partnerships to build effective commercial relationships to increase the supply of Water Saving Technologies to Jordan’s industrial and commercial enterprises.
- Work with suppliers of water saving technologies ( WSTs) and related service providers to create on going mutually beneficial commercial partnerships.
- Identify and work with other relevant actors in the supply chain whose inclusion will support enhanced delivery of WST solutions. This may include providers of financial services and any other relevant service which facilitates an increased supply of these technologies and practices.
- Promote commercial models that demonstrate the financial benefits to industrial and commercial enterprises for adopting specific water conservation technologies. Support the suppliers to use this information to build demand for their products.
- Engage with and support the suppliers of WSTs to adopt a more customer focused approach to build commercial relationships with their client base.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong analytical and relationship building skills, including ability to work in partnership with industrial and commercial enterprises and government institutions as appropriate.
- Ability to negotiate, advise and support conclusion of commercial partnerships.
- Ability to communicate effectively with people and organizations on all levels relevant to the water sector.
- Strong written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to write required documents in a clear, concise, well-organized manner in both English and Arabic
- Ability to travel within Jordan as needed.
- Team player and able to work independently.
Minimum qualification requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in economics, business, water management or relevant technical area.
- At least three years of experience working with the private sector to develop public-private partnerships, leverage resources, and promote private-sector driven growth. Without a Bachelor’s Degree, 8 years of relevant work experience is required.
- Experience providing advisory, mentoring, and capacity building services to industrial sector to promote the adoption of water saving technologies.
- Familiarity with water issues in Jordan
