Performance Tester
Responsibilities
· Design, develop and run performance/stress test scenarios to validate Load, Stability, Scalability, and Reliability standards of the application are achieved
· Analyze performance test results, and work with dev and ops to identify performance bottlenecks and their root cause
· Publish results, conclusions, recommendations, and best practices via documents and blogs to the field, partners, and customers
· Use tools for metrics, monitoring, and results analysis using Grafana
· Ensure non-functional requirements for performance (such as throughput, latency, memory usage, etc.) are met
· Debug, troubleshoot, and work with the development engineering team to resolve and correct performance issues
· Create and maintain reports that describe performance issues and possible root causes
Requirements:
· Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field
· Solid Python programming skills
· Good communication skills; great attention to detail.
Any of the following will be highly regarded:
· Prior experience in a similar role.
· Jmeter experience.
· Dyntrace experience.
· Aptitude for performance engineering R&D and experience with performance benchmarks and methodology
· Excellent communication and collaboration skills
· Experience working on large distributed systems
· Solid understanding of CPU, memory, network, and storage hardware and software subsystems as they relate to performance
· Strong analytical ability and a hunger for solving complex problems
· Good understanding relational database systems.
· Good understanding of storage, including distributed, cloud, and software-defined storage
· Strong performance and scale experience
· Motivated with excellent judgement and decision-making skills
· Experience with open source communities and processes is a plus
· Basic programming skills with PowerShell, Python & Java
· Capable of architecting/understanding complex software solutions
· Working knowledge of modern web technologies including: HTML, HTTP, REST, JSON, JavaScript, CSS
