Technology Content Editor/Writer (Amman Office)

Mena Tech is the leading Arabic-speaking tech publication in the Middle East and North Africa region with over 5 million followers.

We are looking for a tech enthusiast with high-level writing and editing skills to join our team and participate in creating high-quality content for our audience. Mena Tech focuses on enterprise and advanced technologies such as AI, ML, IoT, Fintech, smart cities, electric and smart mobility, automation, and other topics. Knowledge of the consumer products market is a plus.

The role is full-time and remote, and it may require traveling to cover technology and business events.

Responsibilities:

• Edit, translate, and proofread multiple types of content including news pieces, press releases, features, reports, sponsored content, social media captions, and other types of content.
• Research cutting-edge topics to create high-quality, engaging content that captures the style and tone of Mena Tech.
• Be proactive by pitching stories and suggesting fresh ideas to elevate the level of digital and print content.
• Work with other editorial team members to come up with ideas and plans for different types of content.
• Stay up to date with the latest development and current events in the tech and business worlds.
• Look for and identify shortcomings in current strategies and suggest solutions to mitigate them.
• Have a genuine interest in technology and be able to communicate with industry professionals in interviews, events, and other opportunities.

Requirements:

• Total command of the Arabic language with perfect grammar and spelling.
• Fluency in English, written and spoken is a plus.
• Deep understanding of tech topics, and constant following of current trends and events.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks of varying importance within tight deadlines.
• Excellent research and analytical skills to fetch information and judge the trustworthiness of used sources.
• Passion for technology is a given.
