Good Neighbors (http://www.goodneighbors.org/) is an international humanitarian and development NGO founded in the Republic of Korea in 1991. To make the world a place without hunger, where people live together in harmony, GNI works with 200 communities in 48 countries, focusing on an inclusive community development approach and child protection. Good Neighbors has attained General consultative status with United Nations Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC) in 1996. In recognition of valuable efforts in providing universal primary education globally, it was awarded the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) Award by the International Association of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions (AICESIS) in 2007.

This year, Good Neighbors is implementing projects for Syrian refugees and host communities in Jordan, including GiK activities. GNI Jordan is looking for a project assistant. Please see the details below for those who are interested.

  1. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist in following up on implementing different activities in different geographical areas.
  • Support keeping track of project operational performance and ensure project activities within plans and log frame.
  • Identify problems and suggest corrective actions in compliance with GNI’s rules and regulations.
  • Collaborates closely with the GNI Team in the execution of activities plans.
  • Supports follow-up and communication with GNI Jordan stakeholders according to priorities and assigned tasks.
  • As required, assist in building lasting relationships with the CBOs, INGOs, INGOs, and government institutions.
  • Acquires a strong understanding of GNI Jordan projects and ensures the ability to clearly and simply articulate project aims, goals, and results to various stakeholders.
  • Analyze situations and challenges, reports, and provide timely, accurate information for decision–making.
  • Support in the organization of workshops, meetings, and visits as per assigned tasks.
  • Assists in managing and monitoring budget expenditure and revisions and provides feedback on financial records.
  • Assists in writing reports and other project related documentation.
  • Carry out all specific tasks of the Organization as assigned by the direct supervisor.
  1. Competencies and Qualification
  • At least two (2) years of experience with project implementation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in social studies, business administration, or other relevant subjects
  • Good knowledge of humanitarian assistance, especially community development projects and Gift-in-Kind distribution activities.
  • Well-organized, resourceful with planning, and good communication/reporting skills.
  • A team player: flexible, quick thinking, and working well under pressure. creating a supportive and conducive learning environment.
  • Commitment to the Organization’s vision, mission, values, and goals.
  • Solid skills in the use of Microsoft Office and computers.
