Mobility Officer

Role Purpose
- Develop a relationship with governmental entities including but not limited to social security, tax department, ministry of labour and ministry of foreign affairs.
- Ensure British Council compliance with legal requirements for local and foreigners employment procedures in Jordan.
Main Accountabilities
Internal customer focus
- Respond knowledgeably and professionally to staff and management enquiries, to ensure internal customers receive high quality, prompt and timely service.
Functional expertise
- Prepare and manage all communication related to income tax and social security and mobility internally and externally with all related governmental entities.
- Coordinate with HR and Payroll accountant the offboarding and onboarding processes related to enrolment and disenrollment of staff on social security, income tax and work permit issues.
- Support expat colleagues in their accommodation and keep updated inventory of furniture owned by British Council.
- Apply detailed understanding of social security, income tax and work permits procedures in Jordan to provide practical and appropriate support.
Reporting
- Prepare, get the approval and submit income tax and social security reports on monthly basis using the online e-service system.
- Prepare, get the approval and submit the annual report of Social Security using the online e-service system.
Relationship & stakeholder management
- Develop good working relationships with Human resources and finance team throughout the year to facilitate the effective provision of high quality services.
- Represent the British Council in discussions with social security, tax department, ministry of labor, ministry of foreign affairs and the British Embassy as appropriate.
About You (essential Requirements For The Role)
- The British Council systems and global processes operate in English. Good written and verbal proficiency in English is must (A2 level).
- Arabic should be a C1 level language.
- Should hold Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
- Working knowledge of governmental organisations.
- Expertise in Jordanian labour law, social security and income tax
- Expertise in work permits issuance processes and any related law
