Head Of Development in our office in Amman, Jordan
The Head of Development is responsible for leading a significant internal engineering function, with development team leads being the direct reports.
And must have strong experience of building .NET software development teams. Although you will not be expected to code in this position you will be working very closely with architects and team leads and making high level technical decisions, as such you should have a broad understanding of technologies that include: .NET framework, .NET Core / ASP.NET MVC, C#, Python, JavaScript, React, Angular, Microservices, MongoDB, TypeScript, Azure, Entity Framework, Node.js, Elasticsearch, Agile, TDD, BDD, DevOps / DevSecOps, Scrum, Kanban and SQL Server.
Responsibilities
- Development of the technology landscape with a focus on systems and solutions, providing a better experience for our colleague and customers.
- Improving of delivery methods & software engineering to reduce the timeline to deliver technology change with an ongoing aim to improve the quality of change implemented.
- Ensuring products are delivered to business and external customers with high quality and reliability
- Maintaining a strong awareness of technology trends, driving innovation opportunities to deliver future growth and operational efficiencies
- Leadership of a large internal engineering team including technical skillsets covering systems architecture, application, web & data development across all areas including analysis, development, test. Provide guidance, mentorship and set clear objectives enabling teams to succeed.
- Implementation of best practice engineering processes.
Skills & Competencies
- Possessing a strong architecture understanding
- Understanding of compliance principles, including KYC
- Flexibility to changing business demands
- Understanding of data protection principles including data retention and anonymization procedures & policies
Experience Requirements
- Financial Services / Trading background
- Building, managing and growing internal multi-disciplined engineering teams
- Driving force who leads and encourages teams to meet and exceed goals and targets
- Helping drive excellence in the software development lifecycle
- Experience and knowledge of Microsoft .NET and Azure development technologies, and software development lifecycles
