Assistant Dispatcher
Purpose:
Assistant Dispatcher is responsible to dispatch vehicles in a safe, objective-driven, and economical manner and organizes drivers’ assignments
Functional general responsibilities:
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Independently works to ensure that the fleet is used in a rational manner.
- Organizes and plans drivers’ duties and assignments, dispatches the assign vehicles.
- Monitors and records vehicle use and fuel consumption.
- Keeps tracks of all vehicle’s movements using satellite tracking system/speed cast.
- Analysis and mitigates risks (vehicle looting & safety hazards) in dangers locations.
- Takes all necessary steps to implement the delegation security rules.
- Organise the daily car attribution during and after working hours.
- Keep the communication flow with all the fleet customers of the delegation, outlook.
- Maintain written communication with the various departments involved in the field activities i.e. logistics, warehouse, assistance, protection, welcome, HOD by outlook.
PEOPLE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understands and supervises the Performance Management & Development (PMD) activities for employees under their supervision
- Makes sure that deadlines for the PMD cycle are met
- Engages in ongoing and continuous feedback and support, particularly for employees under their supervision, but also other staff members
GENERAL DUTIES
- Understands and adheres to the seven Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement
- Understands and adheres to the ICRC Code of Conduct
- Understands the roles of the components of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement
- Respects and observes staff regulations and security rules at all times
- Represents the ICRC in a professional manner at all times
- Develops and maintains a pleasant and conducive working environment with colleagues and line managers
- Performs all duties with the highest level of confidentiality in the interest of the employees and the ICRC
- May be asked to perform tasks not covered in this job description and to provide support to other departments when necessary
PROFESSIONAL EXPERINCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED
- Two years’ experience in a similar field.
- Good knowledge of the area of assignment.
- Familiarity with all terrain, vehicles, and VHF radio
- Strong knowledge of MS office.
- Strong Command in both English and Arabic langue’s; spoken, written, and reading.
