Background

Job Purpose

The Child Protection and Gender Based Violence projects manager contributes to the coordination and management of quality, timely and integrated technical support to the (CP&GBV) Projects, and manages aspects of the projects as required, including projects development, management of operational projects, as well as continued monitoring and evaluation of implementation and reporting.

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Protection and Inclusion Programs, the projects manager will ensure timely effective, and efficient implementation of CP&GBV projects.

Projects Planning, Implementation, Monitoring, and Evaluation:

  • Provide technical and management leadership to the child protection (CP) and Gender Based Violence(GBV) projects
  • Lead the timely and quality implementation of all projects in line with JOHUD’s internal standards and donors’ requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Financial and Logistics department to identify needs and ensure effective and timely project deliverables.
  • Ensure that solid CP case management, referral, and information management systems are in place for appropriate identification, responses, and follow-up for children harmed or at risk of being harmed and that these processes are happening in a timely manner.
  • Monitor performance of the team to ensure all milestones set in the annual work plan are met, develop mitigation plans to reduce risks, and take corrective actions to remedy any deviation from the work plans
  • to proposal development by providing relevant inputs on CP GBV-related aspects in close coordination with the project management team as well as engaging in resource mobilization efforts to support joint programming
  • Ensure and monitor the correct documentation of cases through review of files and databases. Ensure confidentiality of information, and that data protection and information-sharing protocols are respected.
  • Prepare work plans, and produce timely reports – financial and progress reports – as required by the pillar’s director and donor reporting systems;
  • Contributes to ensuring participation of beneficiaries in the designing, implementation, and monitoring of the programs through partner organizations.
  • Ensures that the program quality meets the minimum standards across our programs.
  • Contribute to the development of the CP and GBV project’s strategic direction for responding to the needs of women, girls, boys, and men.

Provide capacity building for the projects team

  • Providing capacity building on several technical topics, such as CP&GBV concepts, principles and minimum standards, interagency CP& GBV case management, counseling skills, GBVIMS reporting, safe referrals for SGBV survivors, PSEA; for protection and non-protection staff, internally and externally in coordination with other operating partners.
  • Support team performance and ensure compliance with the performance management cycle.

Promotes integrated programming and key advocacy between the projects

  • Integrating specialized child protection practices and policies into the Case Management component to be mainstreamed within programming and operations at JOHUD: design, align with current systems and support organizational capacity building.
  • Ensure mainstream protection in all program through developing risk analysis, mitigation plans, proper monitoring tools, and trainings related to PSEA and child safeguarding topics.
  • Affected mainstreaming to PSEA, Child Safeguarding and protection national and international policies across all JOHUD interventions.

Partnership and Communication

  • Ensure effective coordination with the different partners and donors through effective communication pathways with a vision to maintain quality services
  • Coordinate with other CP/GBV service providers and partners on case management services including strengthening and implementing of referral pathway system for safe identification and referrals.
  • Actively develop and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders, including donors (if required), government actors, UN agencies, international and local NGOs, and other relevant actors.
  • Attend regular calls, meetings, etc. as required by JOHUD.

Competencies, Education, and Experience:

  • Ability to lead strategic planning, results-based management, and reporting;
  • Ability to lead formulation, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of development programs and projects, mobilize resources;
  • Master’s degree or equivalent in human rights, gender, humanitarian action, international relations, international development, international law or other social science fields is an asset.
  • 5-7years of experience working in a managerial position with relevant work experience, within NGOs/INGOs and the UN development context.
  • Strong experience in CP and GBV in humanitarian settings, community-based child protection is required.
  • Sound knowledge of gender issues in humanitarian/development settings, including relevant protection contexts.
  • Experience in conducting assessments in an emergency context.
  • Experience in humanitarian coordination and Project Cycle Management (PCM)
  • Experience working with, and building partnerships with governments, donors, and civil society organizations internationally and in the field.
  • Able to provide project and program management support.

Language Requirements:

  • Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
