Tax Manager
Job Description
Tax Services:55%:
- Drive monthly internal external financial reporting (e.g.: WHT, VAT, ZAKAT, and analysis) process and ensures fully compliance with GAZT regulation.
- Develop and implement of tax needs.
- Advise the Business/management/operation on the tax implications.
- Prepare the required WHT, VAT and Zakat Declaration on time with properly and thoroughly data and get it submitted to the GAZT and negotiated with them.
- Update the company WHT, VAT & Zakat database with new rates change.
- Attend tax audits.
- Plan and estimate the VAT and their impact on the cash flow statement.
- Plan and estimate the Zakat in annual basis by Nov. from each year.
- Manage the general requirements for deducting VAT incurred on purchase and manage to avoid incurring non-recoverable VAT.
- Identify the associated VAT risks on the contracts (sales, acquisitions, intercompany) and mitigate the associated VAT risks.
- Review the financial reports generated by the system and to be compliance with VAT reporting requirements.
- VAT technical planning and compliance readiness for purposes of preparation of VAT returns
- Identify key VAT issues and provide suggestions for addressing such issues.
- Prepare VAT reconciliation on the monthlyquarterly VAT returns.
- Update and applied adequacy of the VAT rates.
- Review the procurement invoices to determine the validity of the tax invoice for the purposes of claiming input tax.
- Review the sales invoices to determine the validity of the tax invoice for the purposes of output tax.
- Review the VAT setup and full process on the system and be sure it is compliance with GAZT requirements.
- Review the VAT & Zakat registration, updated, and provide the support to complete it.
- Review and approve all WHT, VAT and Zakat return for AlGihaz and its subsidiaries.
- Ensure VAT timely filing of tax returns and payment to GAZT for AlGihaz and its subsidiaries.
- Ensure withholding tax on payment to foreign vendors is followed and timely filing of tax returns and payment to GAZT for AlGihaz and its subsidiaries.
2-Coordination, Audit & Control: 25%
- Set-up and monitor policies & procedures and KPI’s to ensure TAX functions (VAT, WHT, ZAKAT) within the company are “functioning” in an effective and efficient way.
- Ensure that the regulatory and legal requirements are completely met e.g., VAT, WHT and Zakat are applied and follow up with GAZT is done.
- Confirm that AlGihaz and its subsidiaries are following up the GAZT regulations and compliance with it, and compliance with internal policy.
- Manage the monthly annually tax process and filing and submitting the ZakatVAT return on the time.
- Coordinate with external auditorsconsultants relating to VAT, WHT & Zakat.
- Implement the necessary measures to build an effective internal control and saving the time and cost.
- Maintain close coordination with accounts finance managers and other relevant departments to efficiently discharge the duties and responsibilities.
- Monitor the internal control weaknesses and suggests improvement.
- Establish and document the policies and procedures for the functioning of the tax department function.
3. People Management: 20%
- Define KPIs of accountants and monitor their performance including time management, quality of work etc. so that functions of accounts tax department are carried out effectively and efficiently.
- Monitor the performance of staff on an on-going basis, ensure performance reviews are conducted against agreed goals and competencies and that all staff have an individual development plan.
- Identify training and developmental priorities of the department in consultation with Group CFO and the Human Resources department and ensure that staff are adequately skilled to meet the future requirements of the business.
- Coach and mentor staff as appropriate to improve individual performance.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
- 8+ years of experience in the field of VAT, WHT and ZAKAT
- Strong experience with a variety of tax operations and ability to drive process improvements.
- Critical thinking, analytical skills, and attention to details.
- Effective communication skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Team management and leadership skills.
- Strong in MS Office and ERP.
- Proficient in English.
