Role Purpose:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for analyzing complex financial records and reports. You oversee a company's accounting operations. He/ she will prepare and records asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing account information. Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results.
Analyse financial information and summarize financial status.
Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.
Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
Participate in financial standards setting and in the forecast process.
Provide input into the department’s goal setting process.
Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule.
Support month-end and year-end close process
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Create debit and credit notes for related party companies, also record and reconcile the daily transactions for related party companies.
Assist in preparing the financial statements for Luminus projects.
Act as a focal point to the social security corporation for all Luminus entities except for Luminus Media.
Work closely with the HR team to make sure the salaries are accurate when sent to Social Security.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/ Accounting, and a Master’s Degree is a plus.
3-5 years of professional experience as a Senior Accountant.
Experience coaching and developing a team.
A highly organized individual able to keep multiple projects and tasks on track at once.
Research and management skills.
Effective networker and confidence to present data to senior management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with both faculty and student populations.
Superior organizational and problem-resolution skills.
Goal-oriented and highly ethical.
Bilingual in Arabic and English.
