Job Objective:

The Cloud Architect is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining our company's cloud infrastructure. This person will work closely with the executive team, stakeholders, and other engineers to ensure high levels of availability, performance, and security for our mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, deploy, and enhance applications, software, and operating systems
Migrate existing applications and components from on-premise to cloud, with a focus on security
Conduct research on software, systems, and cloud resources to support implementation and migration efforts
Analyze the cost-benefit and return on investment of proposed systems
Monitor and improve the performance and uptime of cloud systems
Reduce costs and modernize existing systems by migrating to SaaS and serverless environments
Perform security audits, backup procedures, and disaster recovery processes in accordance with company policies
Research and implement cloud services to integrate servers and applications into a cloud ecosystem
Test and validate modified and new systems, including end-user reviews
Stay current with new cloud offerings and services
Maintain high security scores on all platforms

Qualifications/Requirements:

Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert
Amazon AWS Certified Solutions Architect
Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure Security
2 to 8 years of system administration and cloud experience
Proven experience in designing, implementing, optimizing, and troubleshooting cloud platforms
Knowledge of systems planning, security principles, and cloud best practices
Understanding of data privacy practices and laws
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues
Strong communication skills in both technical and non-technical language
Project management experience

Technical Competencies:

Windows Server 2016 and 2019, Linux
Enterprise services knowledge (e.g. AD DS, AD FS, AD NPS, WSUS, DNS, DHCP, Network, firewalls, storage)
Understanding of datacenters, networks, hardware, virtual environments, and cloud environments
Knowledge of security strategies and best practices
Deep understanding of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS offerings.
