STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: |
Advanced University degree in International Relations, Political Science, Economics, Information Management or other relevant fields to international development assistance, or First University Degree with additional years of related work experience. |
Experience: |
One year of professional experience, including volunteering or internships. Experience with WFP is a plus. |
Knowledge & Skills: |

Languages: |
Excellent oral and writing skills in English are required. Fluency in a second UN language is a plus. |
ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND JOB PURPOSE
The Consultant will report to the Programme and Policy Officer in the Front Office of the Programme – Humanitarian and Development Division (PRO) and will be based in the Front Office to ensure quality control and excellence in the products from the Division.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Reporting to Programme and Policy Officer on workstream 3 of the Strategic Plan Implementation Plan (on normative and policy alignment), the staff member will perform the following activities:
- Collect, draft and validate documents and key messages on programmatic and policy issues.
- Support the drafting of background documents, policies / policy papers, and guidance for the Policy Cycle Steering Group (PCSG) and Programme Manual Guidance (PGM) reference groups and platform.
- Prepare background materials and support the organization of events and meetings.
- Consolidate outputs from meetings and events, such as Notes for Reference and follow-up actions.
- Support the research and consolidation of material on policy and programme frontier topics.
- Support in project management and timelines for tasks, projects and initiatives run by the Front Office.
- Perform other related tasks as requested by the direct supervisor, Head of Office and the Division Director.
