Purpose of the job
To carry out the sampling leading to physical, chemical & microbiological routine tests for all the products releases in order to ensure that all products are being mixed, processed and produced in accordance with company’s standards and specifications. Ensure that all quality control & food safety related reports are provided on a daily, weekly and monthly basis ensuring all product related specifications are met during production.
key Accountabilities
Collect samples and perform testing of raw materials, packaging materials, chemicals, utilities, semi-finished and finished goods in accordance with the established procedures.
Carry out the laboratory tests to ensure all products specifications are met so as to perform the positive releases. Carry out the laboratory tests for the utilities (water, cooling water, steam, chemicals, CIPs, COD etc.) to ensure compliance with company’s standards.
Conduct the required line hygiene inspections and line quality control tests and keep the relative records, in accordance to the established procedures, work instructions, sampling and inspection plans.
Calibrate lab instruments and maintain lab equipment in a perfect operational and hygiene condition.
Supervise the sanitation programs, CIP & COP plans and pest control in all sections.
Handle product returns and customer complaints as per laid down procedures and communicate the same with the production and maintenance team that would lead in initiating preventive and corrective actions.
Support internal / external food safety audits, raise NCRs and drive actions to close it.
Collect quality data, detect potential quality risks and defects by analyzing trends and present quality data in daily, weekly and monthly reports.
Participate in daily meetings providing quality data, product quality defects info, customer complaints and any other feedback related to the products quality and specifications.
Escalate and report out of specs situation (quality, food safety, health and safety or environmental deviations from the standards), providing all required quality, processing, packaging data and timelines.
Supervise and follow the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Good Laboratory Practices and Good Hygiene Practices (GHPs) so as to ensure a clean and safe working environment that complies with company’s health & safety, environmental and food safety standards in production and lab.

Job Requirements
Educational level: Bachelor’s degree in food science, food chemistry or any related field.
Minimal experience: 2 Years of relevant experience
Hands-on experience in a lab environment.
Advanced quality/food safety/package integrity training is a plus.
Familiar with basic dairy lab instruments (pH meters, lab scales, autoclave, Milkoscan, conductivity meters, Gerber etc.)
Experience in food safety management system – ISO 22000 & HACCP Good understanding in the processing principles (Recombining, mixing, pasteurizing, sterilizing, processing, aseptic transfer, CIP, packaging). Ability to work mornings / evenings / weekends, depending on the assigned shift. Languages: Good communication skills (verbal & written) in English. Knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
