الوصف الوظيفي
- Ensures through his actions, either directly or indirectly, that a superior quality of medical treatment, compassion and understanding is given to every patient served at the Riyadh Care Hospitals and Clinics.
- Plan, schedule and direct the work of the department’s staff to meet the hospital objectives.
- Recommend criteria for selecting the department's or service’s professional staff and choose or recommend individuals who meet those criteria
- Participate in the recruitment process in his/her department by updating the departmental staffing plan on an annual basis, reviewing credentials of job applicants and recommending hiring.
- Provide orientation and training for all staff of the duties and responsibilities for the department or service to which they are assign.
- Establish, implement and maintain continuing professional development programs.
- Assure that a regular and systematic monitoring and evaluation of the quality and appropriateness of services rendered within the service is carried out through designated quality assurance mechanisms.
- Responsible to monitor and maintain staff performance, by developing annual performance evaluations to test the employees’ competencies and by suggesting training needs and career objectives for employees in the coming years.
- Recommend space, medical technology, equipment, staffing, and other resources needed by the department or service and have a process in place to respond to shortages.
- Assist in preparation of any required budget reports.
- Chair all departmental meetings or appoint a designee to chair meetings in his absence and documents minutes.
- Ensures performance measurement and improvement of the outcomes of the department.
- Responsible for the motivation and the inspiration of the department staff.
- Participate in creating the policies and procedures necessary to carry out the mission
- Implement Policies and Procedures as well as Rules and Regulations of the Hospital.
- Reviews and updates departmental policies and procedures using JCIA and CBAHI standards every three years.
- Manages, identifies and analyzes routine surveillance data throughout the hospital; presents surveillance data to appropriate clinical groups; identifies and analyzes health issues and their impact patients within the hospital
- Provides expert and effective leadership in promotion of medical asepsis and Oversees proper Safeguards against the transmission of infection within the Hospital.
- Prepare and Revises the yearly plan of the IC Service, and submitting it to the Director General and to the IC Committee.
- Supervises, investigates, monitors, develops and implements policies and educates personnel on practices in infection control
- Initiates and implements specific performance improvement measures for infection control
- Evaluates resources for implementing infection control measures and takes action as deemed appropriate by professional practice and in accordance with RCH policies and procedures
- Integrates findings into an Infection Control Plan for improvement of practice and patient outcomes, serves as a liaison to public health officials
- Provides advisory services concerning infection control issues across the hospital
- Collaborates with health care teams, recommends and develops new or revised practices and procedures based on currently accepted evidence
- Implements infection control strategies in accordance with recommendations/requirements of CDC, OSHA, , JCIA and CBAHI
- Participates in the update and revision of policies directed toward compliance to National Standards with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
- Assists in problem resolution on infection prevention and control issues as directed by management.
- Initiates and investigates special issues/focus studies to prevent and control infections.
- Initiates, compiles and completes periodic review of departmental infection prevention and control policies as required by the hospital, national and international standards
- Report’s findings to appropriate authorities – both within and outside the hospital, as deemed necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant law and regulations e.g law and regulations related to recruitment, professional staff licensure and registration, waste management, food management, infection control, medication management, patient rights, radiation safety and physical environment.
- Performs additional tasks and duties as assigned by Superiors.

Qualifications:
A minimum of:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public health, Nursing or Microbiology.
- Professional Certificate in Infection Prevention and control.
- CIC, Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology.
- Additional training and courses in infection control.
- Minimum of Eight years relevant Experience.

- Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices
- Thorough knowledge of national and international rules, regulations and procedures pertaining to infection control.
- Ability to work well with and within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership, self-directed and rational problem solving skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to clearly and concisely document all issues and procedures relating to central supply.
