ROLE PURPOSE:
Under the supervision of the Project Manager and the technical support from the Protection Technical Advisor.
The Case Management Officer as part of BPRM project team will provide technical guidance,
support and strategic direction to the case managers under the project.
The role of the Case Management Officer is to assess, design and guide staff as they initiate
interventions to offer psychosocial support and address violations of children’s rights: protect them
from abuse, exploitation, violence and neglect.
The Case Management Officer is responsible for ensuring that quality programs meet quality
standards and capacities of staff are developed to provide protection to children.

SCOPE OF ROLE:
Reports to: Project Manager (Management), Protection Technical Advisor (Technical).
Staff directly reporting to this post: 12 Case Mangers
|
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Supporting the Case Manger ensuring that SC Jordans case management approach is done according to the standard operation procedures and the interagency Case Management Quality Assessment Framework;
- Schedule and supervise weekly case management meetings with all Case Managers and share the meeting minutes with case managers, and Project Manager.
- Conduct monthly supervision meeting with all Case Managers individually; conduct case file audits of the Case Manager’s caseload in order to make sure all documentation is in place, provide technical advice on cases and psychosocial support to caseworkers.
- Provide technical support to the field teams through regular field visits to ensure child protection activities are appropriately implemented according to quality standards.
- Support the ongoing referral systems amongst the different program interventions (child
- protection, education, psychosocial, income generation etc.) in communities.
- Adhere to CPIMS guidelines and ensure timely entries with close supervision to cases.
- Identify staff gaps and training needs in order to strengthen Case Manager’s capacity and quality of case management service.
- Ensure that all Case Manager have access to all templates required for case management.
- Review staff caseloads to ensure the workload is manageable and support individual cases where required –where needed share challenges with (Project Manager, and Child Protection Specialist).
- Monitor timescales for response, decision-making, placement, follow-up (home visits) and review accordingly – keep track of each Case Manager’s case load, time and date of scheduled follow ups and home visits.
- Review and approve the child protection case management forms that are filled by the Case Managers.
- Review Master tracker sheet and approve the data.
- Ensure that all Case Managers have a clear schedule and reporting process.
- With the support of the team, develop best practices and lesson learned. Ensure that all SOPs are up to date and integrate best practices and lesson learned
- Review and analyze trends in the caseload to inform programming
Support the delivery of effective Programmes, in both development and humanitarian contexts, by:
- Work with child protection and Education partners to assess needs or, coordinate and oversee needs assessments being conducted by partners about child protection and disability issues, to map out priority protection gaps and identify key resources and assets utilizing Child Protection in Emergency (CPIE) Rapid Assessment tools.
- Support in Ensuring that child protection interventions are informed by and integrated with other core sectors of education, health, food security and livelihoods.
- Initiate and/or carry out capacity-building of key staff in specific child protection in emergencies competencies including appropriate child protection approaches, where needed.
- Support in Coordinating the CP-GBV /referral coordination group meetings by ensuring the interagency communication to prepare meeting’s agenda, provide technical support.
- Compile quantitative and qualitative updated data and reports as needed in collaboration with MEAL team.
- Provide timely data to the community mobilizers team.
- In coordination with the Child Protection team members, support regular participatory activities with different groups of children to identify issues affecting children in their communities, and assist the teams to identify gaps and develop appropriate responses accordingly.
- Ensure the representation of Save the Children as CP and right-based organization in Inter-Agency coordination meetings when needed.
- Provide weekly and monthly internal and external reports
- Ensures adherence to the Child Safeguarding Policy and reporting procedures
- Undertakes any other tasks assigned by line manager / supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE review
Essential:
- At least 3-5 years' experience working in psychology, social work and case management.
- At least 2 years’ experience as a team supervisor.
- Excellent skills in excel and data management.
- University degree in, Social Work, psychological, social sciences or any relevant area
- Substantial experience in the field of child protection.
- Experience in capacity building and in strengthening various duty bearers understanding of and response to child protection.
- Commitment to and understanding of child rights, Save the Children’s aims, values and principles and humanitarian standards as Sphere Charter and Code of Conduct.
- Self-awareness and proven ability to operate successfully in different cultural environments.
- Ability to achieve results and maintain consistent high standards of professional behavior and achievement, including when working alone.
- Good interpersonal and team building skills
- Ability to communicate and maintain appropriate and productive relations with a range of actors, including children, parents, local and national authorities in political and militarily sensitive environments.
- Experience of working with partners and a participatory approach

- Good Command of Computer Skills.
- Very Good Arabic and English writing and communication skills.
