Duties and Responsibilities

1 Abides by the Medical Staff Bylaws, Code of Medical Ethics, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff and those specific to the department/division

2 Provides the highest attainable standard of medical care for the patients for whom he/she is responsible.

3 Carries out a full range of inpatient and outpatient clinical duties as assigned by the director/ head of the department in accordance with individually approved clinical policies and procedures and privileges .

4 Evaluating patients' physical and mental behaviors of drug addicts, and developing appropriate treatment and recovery plans.

5 Identifying behaviors that interfere with treatment and recovery of addiction-related behavior.

6 Recognize the physical signs of drug misuse and related complications on physical examination.

7 Be aware of the relationship between mental health and substance misuse..

8 Participates in on-call duties as required by the départriientjdivision

9 Teaches staff assigned for training purposes and participates with the Director/Head of Psychiatry and Director of Postgraduate and Academic Affairs in planning a program of career development for trainees when needed .

4.10 Participates in the improvement of quality of patient care (Continues Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (CQI&PS) as applicable .

411 Fulfills the requirements of the Saudi Council for Health Specialties with regard to continuing medical education .

12 Participates in and/or actively supports the approved research projects

13 Deputies for his superior as required, and shares the workload in his specialty during the absence of his colleagues..

14 Strives to improve his clinical expertise as well as standard of practice with regard to morbidity and cost effectiveness

15 Participates in the forward planning, and further development of the department/division.

16 Serves on hospital committees as requested. .

17 Participates in the major disaster plan of the hospital as indicated. .

18 Performs other applicable tasks and duties assignedrwithili i,he reålm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities, within the hospital and/or affiliated medical facilities.

المهارات

1 Graduate from a recognized Medical School.

2 Saudi Board, or equivalent higher qualification in Psychiatry. Sub-specialty certificate in Addiction.

3 Valid Certificate from Saudi Health Council to practice his/her profession

4 Experience in the organization of teaching of undergraduates and postgraduates training.

5 Effective communication skills

6 Self-motivated and awareness of current trendsžn th6.fieid

7 Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment.

8 Flexible, adaptable, innovative approach to work.

9 Ability to show empathy and maintain a professional attitude in a demanding
