ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

These jobs are found in Country Offices (COs), Regional Bureaux (RBs), and Headquarters (HQ). The Job holders report to a Head of the Unit, Chief or Information Technology Officer.
At this level job holders are expected to demonstrate responsibility and initiative to respond independently to queries with only general guidance. There is a requirement to use judgment in dealing with unforeseen problems on a daily basis. Job holders are expected to manage resources and coach and coordinate a team of support staff.

JOB PURPOSE

To coordinate and guide Information Technology maintenance and support activities to enable the effective delivery of IT services.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Project Design
1. Define requirements and objectives for locally developed data products, liaising closely with relevant stakeholders, including business functions, development and architecture teams;
2. Provide quality assurance of imported data, working with relevant stakeholders;
3. Provide applied technical expertise on data storage structures, data mining, and data cleansing.
4. Work with the RB/HQ application development team to process, design and present data in ways to help relevant stakeholders make better decisions;
Project Implementation
1. Manage and design the analytical environment, including data sources, analytical models, security, and metadata;
2. Store and integrate local data source with existing data within the WFP data lake;
3. Generate visualization and analysis from single or multiple systems;
4. Troubleshoot the reporting database environment and reports.
Training and Support
1. Train end users on delivered analytical tools and dashboards to ensure knowledge handover to relevant business teams;
2. Liaise with the other teams to ensure service support levels are maintained;
3. Ensure that relevant teams and individuals are consulted and involved in decision making at key points and that all decisions made are clearly documented and communicated.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of Secondary School, plus a post-Secondary School certificate/diploma in Telecommunications, Information Technology, Computer Science, or another relevant field

Experince: Minumum of Five years of experience in Information Technology and Telecommunication Services or related field.
Has experience analyzing service management results and development service enhancement recommendations.
Has participated in business process re-engineering efforts and identified service management improvements.
Has experience participating in country office procurement/budgeting process.

Language: Fluency (level C) in both English and Portuguese Language.

Duty Station: Maputo

This position is applicable only to Mozambican Nationals.
