Duties and Responsibilities:

1.He shall report to the Unit Consultant, ENT Surgical Tutor and to the Chief of Surgery.

2.He shall take duties according to the requirements of the Department.

3.He shall carry out all the clinical and other duties assigned to him by the Unit Consultant.

4.He shall evaluate the patient under his care and document the history and physical examination. Formulates a plan investigation, management and execute the plan after discussion obtaining the approval of his Seniors.

5.He shall accompany the Unit Consultant in his ward rounds and shall be responsible for the completion of any orders arising thereafter.

6.He shall write the progress notes, pre and post operative orders of the patients file.

7.He shall be responsible for discharging patients as per directive order, completing discharge summary, sick leave form in which shall be counter signed by his Senior.

8.He shall perform his own mid-day or end of day round, his pre-operative and post-operative clerk round and when going off duty shall endorse all his patients to his colleagues on call.

9.He may operate on patients either elective or emergency at his own level of delineated under the direct supervision of a senior with him.

10.He shall participate in the educational and research projects in the Department.

11.Perform other duties within the realm of his qualification experience.
