Manager, IT SAP FI/CO

Job Purpose:
Responsible for leading the SAP Finance team and ensuring alignment and connectivity with the MENA technical teams as well as global user base. This includes all aspects of the technical functionality within SAP for Finance & Controlling as well as any interfaces. The position will provide oversight and guidance to development practices, adherence to standards and design recommendations in accordance with global design authority setup.
This role will interact and work closely with the SAP Service Manager, the SAP functional consultants, the SAP AMS (Application Managed Services) team, the SAP Data Center/Hosting Provider and business users alike where applicable. In partnership with others within the global SAP Center of excellence team, this position will identify and define requirements for enhancing the technical services and ensure all services are delivered and supported into production.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead and be a regular contributor and innovator to the continual improvement of technical standards and practices for the users and the service development community.
- Regular and predictable onsite attendance and punctuality.
- Lead, motivate and develop the SAP support team directly and indirectly to build business capability, as well as coaching, and mentoring team to accomplish organizational and department priorities. Works closely with 3rd party vendors chosen for providing Application Managed Services (AMS), Hosting services as well as internal SAP service support team members to ensure deliverables are met. Establish a roadmap for ongoing enhancements within the SAP technical space.
- Responsible for advancing solutions by providing guidance on industry best practice and introducing tools and techniques to better optimize the environment(s). Review best in class industry processes with view to implementing applicable ones within Hikma Pharmaceuticals.
- Mentors, leads, coaches and develops employees; manages and addresses performance issues; makes hiring, firing and compensation decisions to ensure successful individual and organizational performance currently and in the future.
- Design governance and authority; making technical recommendations; assisting team members in setting roadmap and landscape changes.
- Alongside Service Manager, coordinates the definition and implementation of measurable SLAs/KPIs of supplier deliverables consistent with business objectives.
- Reviews service KPIs, SLAs and addresses any service level shortfalls with the 3rd party Service Operations Delivery Manager.
- Provides regular reporting on status of Service Operations and development deliverables and communicates with key stakeholders.
- Identifies any requirement for change in the Development scope/resources and validates any changes proposed.
- Plans future service requirements and their impact on capacity and resources.
- Ensures business continuity by establishing and maintaining a ready back-up plan in case of resource unavailability (i.e. annual leave, sickness, network outages).
- As this is a mission critical service and there shall be a need to periodically work outside of normal hours.
Qualifications:
- Minimum: Any combination of experience in IT project management, vendor management, SAP and/or other IT-related work will be considered In lieu of degree
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree preferably in information technology/services or Finance or other technical field that is related to Finance and reporting.
Experience:
- Minimum:
- 8+ Years of IT service management (SAP is a must)
- Experience in Life Sciences or similar regulated industry
Skills:
- Understanding of SAP ECC and S4/Hana
- Global Template concepts and implementation of development standards
- Manage and perform SAP delivery and support services
- Vendor management; outsourced delivery services
- Lead and manage teams in a multi-location environment
- Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to effectively communicate, analyze, and problem solve
- Experience managing a team that performs both delivery and development services
- Strong understanding and experience of Computer System Validation practices and Software Quality Assurance testing methodologies
- Strong understanding and experience of ITIL-based service management practices.
- Extensive technical experience with SAP Finance and Controlling related modules (depth in at least one area of Basis, EDI, ABAP)
- Extensive experience implementing and supporting SAP in a multi-location environment.
- Team lead/service management experience.
- Proven experience managing SAP technical teams.
- Understanding of technical architecture of SAP
- Understanding of EDI
- Understanding of SAP PI or similar interface/middleware technologies
- Good communication skills.
- Commercial awareness.
- Experience with managing third-party relationships.
- Must be flexible to travel and working on shifts
