Flow Talent are working with a leading UAE bank who are hiring a Senior Legal Counsel to be based in Dubai.

Key aspects of the role include:

Providing legal advice and guidance to stakeholders on a variety of legal topics.
Provide transactional support to Financial Markets business and act as lead lawyer for complex transactions across various asset classes.
Collaborating with management to devise efficient defense strategies.
Specifying internal governance policies and effectively identify, mitigate and resolve risk and compliance matters.
Researching and evaluating different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations.
Applying effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advise on possible legal issues.
Drafting and solidifying agreements, contracts, and other legal documents.
Providing clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization.
Maintaining current knowledge of alterations in legislation and ensure that any regulatory reform is appropriately escalated and managed.
Support and oversee internal and external legal counsels and business teams to drive operational efficiencies.
Provide leadership and coaching to more junior members of the team to enable them to be highly engaged and perform to their potential.

المهارات

To be successful you will need to meet the following criteria:

Qualified as an advocate and solicitor or attorney in UK, USA, UAE, Europe, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, or comparable jurisdiction.
Proven experience as a Senior Legal Counsel within Banking or Financial Markets.
Technical knowledge of the legal landscape for Financial Markets, experience in Islamic derivatives and Islamic structured finance is desirable.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures.
Must have Middle East Experience
Fluent in English, Arabic would be advantageous.
