Shelter Assistant -Nationals Only
NRC is implementing a Shelter and NFI/Cash based Program in the Zaatari and Azraq refugee Camps in Jordan; the project aims to support refugees in the camps to have improved coping strategies through the provision of adequate housing and support to their ability to meet their basic needs. The assistant is responsible of running the day-to-day activities of the shelter project activities in the RA (including the females referrals reception area) to achieve the deliverables expected from the unit(s).
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Role and responsibilities

The assistant is responsible of running the day-to-day activities of the shelter project activities in the RA (including the females referrals reception area) to achieve the deliverables expected from the unit(s).
Generic responsibilities (max 10)
These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work- and Professional Development Plan.

- Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
- Assist with the implementation of the support function portfolio according to plan of action
- Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
- Ensure proper filing of documents
- Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function
Specific responsibilities
These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus and type of program intervention. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly.
- Responsible for welcoming and admission of referrals escorted by police/FDP or UNHCR as per the SOPs; ensuring registering them on the designated tracking systems and proper documentation of their case details.
- Provision of assistance and guidance for the beneficiaries staying at the reception area or passing through the distribution centers and flag any cases requiring further follow up to the supervisor.
- Ensure Site preparation and site readiness for all distributions as assigned by supervisor and follow up on the IBVs as assigned by the supervisor.
- Reporting work progress on daily, weekly or monthly basis and archiving the needed documents using the established systems as agreed with the line manager
- Liaise with NRC protection focal point in referring the protection-related cases
- Preparing activates and progress reports, maintaining the stock inventory and analyzing information based on registration data.
- Registering refugees receiving the assistance through NRC databases and systems and RAIS in the form of (Cash, In-Kind or Voucher).
- Supporting the Team leader during the camp wide/ ad-hoc distributions in delivering the assistance to the beneficiaries.
- Support the unit in the allocation/ clearance exercises. If and as needed
- Other functions as assigned by the line manager.
