ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
WFP is on a focused path towards digitally transforming how it operates and how it best serves those in need so that it can accelerate the goal of achieving zero hunger by 2030. Digital services are at the core of WFP’s digital capabilities, and it is integral to ensuring that we continuously enhance our services to the people we serve.
This position is located in the Global Privacy Office (GPO) of the World Food Programme which was created in 2021 to strengthen the privacy posture of the organization under the leadership of the Data Protection Officer.
Under the supervision of the Global Data Protection Officer, you will support the implementation of WFP’s Privacy programme.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
You will:
- Act as the Knowledge Management (KM) focal point in implementing the KM Action Plan
- Support the development of KM guidance and tools for the GPO
- Support with the GPO communication plan as necessary
- Support with the implementation of the Privacy Software(s) and tools.
- Perform any other duties as required
DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT:
You will ensure that the KM plan for the GPO is operating smoothly and that all work and materials developed during the contract are well-documented and available to the GPO team.
QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY REQUIREMENTS
Education:
You have:
- Advanced university degree in a relevant discipline (including but not limited to: law, computer science, information technology, data protection, and security) or related field with relevant work experience;
Knowledge & Skills:
You have:
- Knowledge of Knowledge Management approaches and practices
- Ability to produce high-quality written materials, including graphically based products, PowerPoint presentations, text documents
- Prior relevant work experience is a plus
- Proficiency in Windows, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Relevant experience with Office 365
- Analytical abilities, both quantitative and qualitative
- Collaborative spirit to liaise with a wide range of people at various levels and across different cultures;
- Time management skills with an ability to plan ahead, anticipate requirements, problems and obstacles;
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and also as part of a team;
- Committed and motivated to achieve the aims of the UN World Food Programme.
Language:
You have:
- Fluency (level C) in the English language.
- Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official UN language is a plus: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish, and/or WFP’s working language, Portuguese.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The position is on an international consultancy contract for an initial period of 11 months and it's extendable subject to funding and performance.
WFP offers an attractive compensation and benefits package in line with ICSC standards (http://icsc.un.org) including basic salary, post adjustment, relocation entitlement, visa, travel and shipment allowances, 30 days’ annual leave, home leave, an education grant for dependent children, a pension plan, and medical insurance.
