Job title: Inclusive Education Coordinator
JOB Purpose:
Under the supervision of the Project Manager, and in collaboration with the Child Protection Coordinator, the Inclusive Education Coordinator will be responsible for quality and timely delivery of Education services and activities. The Inclusive Education Coordinator will ensure that activities are implemented as planned, meeting the desired objectives and goals within the designated schedule and the budget. The Coordinator will lead close coordination with Ministry of Education, Directorate of Education, schools, and other relevant parties.
Major Responsibilities
Quality Implementation
Design and implement English learning and life-skill program ensuring inclusiveness in the project, in close coordination with Child Protection Coordinator.
Conduct field visits to monitor the progress of the work periodically.
Ensure the participation of all groups of children, especially children who are the most vulnerable by continuous development of understanding among school staff on inclusiveness and children’s participation throughout the project.
Develop and provide training on inclusive education or other relevant topics for school staff as well as children, parents and school community.
Provide direct supervision and support to school staff and coach them in implementing inclusive English learning and life-skill program.
Work with contractors and ministry to make sure that rehabilitation and equipping of inclusive education facilities meet national and international standards.
Lead development of English learning curriculum/materials for the project.
Provide leadership in activating and strengthening school committee in target schools.
Ensure that all education activities are consistent with established international and national best practices, in close collaboration with the Education Technical Advisor.
Accountable Project Management
Ensure all activities and outputs are achieved in a timely manner, as outlined in the proposal and DIP.
Review monthly Budget vs. Actual and expenditure sheets to ensure accurate expenditures and reporting on education activities.
Ensure timely production of activity/events reports as well as monthly reports as per the agreed timelines.
Ensure accountable implementation of administrative processes in line with WV’s policies as well as donor guidelines.
Support Project Manager to execute the managerial tasks such as internal or external monthly reporting and tracking of budget.
Willingness to assume responsibility until the end of the MoFA project
Monitoring, Evaluation and Documentation
Ensure transparency in targeting beneficiaries, delivery of services and participation of beneficiaries.
Conduct regular data collection & maintain up to date databases related to the beneficiaries.
Work with the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) team for monitoring and evaluation of project activities including taking corrective action where necessary.
Prepare a monthly indicator reporting with the documents needed for MEAL team verification.
Document milestones and success stories in the education activities.
Coordination and Representation
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all education stakeholders – including governmental authorities, school community, NGOs, UN agencies, community-based organisations to ensure complementarity and synergy in education activities.
Build relationship and partnership to enhance community participation, ownership and sustainability of project.
Attend and (where necessary) represent World Vision in education related coordination meetings, share relevant information with Project Manager, and reflect them in project implementation.
Safeguarding
Ensure that the principles of safeguarding and ‘do no harm’ are embedded in all project planning and implementation.
With Child Protection coordinator, ensure the project and field teams understand and are following World Vision’s policies, including the Safeguarding policy and code of conduct, and donor Policies and Procedures.
Coordinate with Child Protection coordinator to provide project and school staff with regular, up to date training on safeguarding and other child protection topics.
Other
Any other duties as assigned by the Project Manager.
Provide initiative in maintaining positive, constructive and supportive communication within the project team and other shareholders.
Knowledge/Qualification’s for the role K
Required Professional Experience
At least 4-5 years of working experience in education in emergency or in development programmes in an international NGO or similar organizations.
Required Education, training, license, registration, and certification
BA/S (preferably MA) in education or any other relevant field
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications OWL
Good working knowledge and understanding of designing and implementation of extra curricular education services, and relevant international and national standards and guidelines.
Experience in designing and leading English learning and/or life-skills program or similar program is an asset.
Good working knowledge and understanding of the inclusive education.
Experience working with at-risk, out of school, vulnerable children and families.
Experience in providing training to staff and partners.
Proven capacity to coordinate, and coach staff in educational skills.
Experience of, and commitment to, working through systems of community participation and accountability.
Good working knowledge of the logical framework approach and project cycle management.
Proven commuter skills for effectively using email software and MS Office Word, Excel, Power Point.
Experience of implementing Japan funded projects and understanding of donor compliance is preferred.
