Elite Education school Medina (a member of Elite Education Group) will be operating in September 2023, school location in Knowledge Economic City, Medina, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The school follows the American and IB Curricula.

Oversees all matters pertaining to successful and effective implementation of the relevant IB program and integration of the IB philosophy with the vision and mission of Elite schools. The IB programme coordinator is part of the pedagogical leadership team. The coordinator directs the day-to-day functions of the International Baccalaureate (IB) program to ensure campus staff are meeting the education requirements of the International Baccalaureate Program. This position is responsible for implementing the objectives of the program, including the management of staff, professional development, and teaching practices. The IB coordinator is a master teacher who serves in the capacity of a site-based instructional coach specializing in IB programs. He/She continuously provides leadership and expertise at the local school in the development, implementation, and coordination of IB programs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Ensures overall fidelity of implementation of IB programs via continuous monitoring, engagement with stakeholders, model lessons, professional learning communities, and classroom observations

· Assists IB teachers in matters pertaining to the written, taught and assessed curriculum, and ensures that all program elements are actively incorporated into the classroom, including:

▫ Learner profile.

▫ Global Contexts.

▫ IB fundamental concepts (holistic learning, intercultural understanding, approaches

to learning)

▫ Concepts, skills, attitudes and action.

· Assists teachers in the unit planning process and the creation of effective units of inquiry

· Uses observation and achievement data to identify professional development needs and to ensure that the school staff is trained in IB planning, reflection, teaching and assessment methodologies through locally created in-service workshops; works with stakeholders to fund adequate ongoing IB training for the staff.

· Constructs the professional development program and oversees its implementation by the IB faculty.

· Oversees student life and discipline and ensures that appropriate student records are maintained.

· Liaises between the school/teachers and the IB.

▫ Communicate important IB announcements, developments and publications to the

teachers.

· Assists in overseeing all aspects of student life and activity – scheduling, environment, events, etc. The IB Program coordinator assigns grade level leaders to assist in these matters.

· Monitors student progress and works with teachers and stage coordinators to design and implement appropriate academic interventions based on formative and summative assessments.

· Ensures that program budgeting, book and supply orders meet the needs of the program, and ensures that appropriate textbooks, resources and facilities are available.

· Attends activities after school and on weekends if necessary.

· Identifies and communicates the roles and responsibilities of each member of the pedagogical leadership team for the program continuum.

· Identifies and trains teachers to take on responsibilities for pedagogical leadership within grade levels and in the classroom.

· Develops, in collaboration with specific interest groups, a clear, long-term strategic plan for the articulation of the program continuum, with actions and a timeline for its implementation.

· Ensures that all teachers and administrations have access to the documentation for all IB programs.

· Facilities continuous, mutual cooperation and collaboration between administrations, stage coordinators, other IB program coordinators and teachers at all levels.

· Organizes the formal procedures in preparation for the school’s authorization and evaluation processes.

· Keeps up to date on all IB developments, and keeps teachers informed of current program developments on a regular basis.

· Liases with other program coordinators- PYP, MYP and DP- to ensure the continuity of the program.

· Ensures the program is well implemented and monitored through a formal procedure.

· Provides input to school scheduling, including the master schedule, collaborative planning schedule, IB professional development schedule, and stakeholder engagement plans.

· Informs newly- appointed staff of all relevant aspects of the program.

· Informs all staff of the assessment and the procedures and deadlines for possible moderation.

· Keeps School Director & EEG Academic dean informed of the programme developments on a regular basis.

· Handles communication with the different IB offices.

· Keeps copies of all correspondence with the IB, including forms, documents and reports on laptops.

· Ensures appropriate conditions for the conduct of possible moderation and / or monitoring of assessment.

· Is Required to have prompt, regular attendance in-person and be available to work on-site, in-person during regular business hours and as needed.

· Performs other tasks that may be required.

المهارات

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • A bachelor's degree. Extra studies are a plus.
  • 7+ years of experience, including teaching experience.
  • Acquires all the needed IB Certificates

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Fluency in written and spoken English Language, knowledge of Arabic Language, knowledge of French and/or German languages is a plus.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of instructional strategies that connect the curriculum to the learner.
  • Ability to model best instructional practices.
  • Knowledgeable in planning IB units, instruction plans, and assessments.
  • Ability to implement IB programs and services.
  • Knowledgeable with international, state and national standards.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
  • Highly organized and detailed oriented.
  • Ability to use computer-based training, educational and administrative software.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt as needed between in-person learning environments.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
