Key Accountabilities
Sanctions
- Monitor and review payment messages on which CB’s Screening System triggers alert(s) for: (i) adverse media reports; (ii) the potential violation of international/ local sanctions; (iii) violation of CB policies etc.
- Assess transactions flagged as suspicious by the bank’s sanctions screening system
Correspondent Banking
- Receive and address all correspondent banking inquiries related to CDD/KYC, payments, and request for information (RFI)
Advice and Awareness
- Actively monitor, review, and communicate notifications on changes in sanctions laws and regulations and proposes the change in requisite controls necessary to mitigate the relative risk.
Continuous Improvement
- Accurately apply OFAC, EU, UK and the State of Qatar’s sanctions regulations, Sanctions Policy to payment messages.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
- Follow all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.
Statements and Reports
- Assist in the preparation of timely and accurate departmental statements and reports.

المهارات
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Sanctions-related Certification(s) e.g., CAMS or CGSS or CSS will be an asset
Minimum Experience:
- 3 -5 years’ relevant experience in Compliance and AML functions of a bank
Knowledge & Other Skills
- Strong knowledge of national and international sanctions laws and regulations, including UN, OFAC, EU, UK and the State of Qatar’s Sanctions
- Experienced in investigations and decision making in relation to name screening ‘hits’
- Very good experience and writing skills in handling correspondent banking inquiries
- Very good analytical skills, with the ability to organise and analyse complex data set
- Ability to work independently with minimum training/guidance on sanctions laws, regulations and their application
- Must be proactive in problem solving and must have a high level of attention to the details
