Liaison Officer Supervisor
CONTEXT
MSF is a private, non-profit, international humanitarian organization dedicated to providing medical assistance to populations in crisis, without discrimination and regardless of race, religion, creed or political affiliation.
MSF has a special legal status in Jordan which brought with its unique administrative procedures for visas, work permits, residency, exemptions, registrations, and other processes with relevant authorities.
MSF Protocol Office and its Liaison Team are tasked with:
• Handling the administrative procedures for all other MSF offices in Jordan
• Coordinating procedures with all other MSF offices in Jordan
• Negotiating and implementing procedures
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES
• Handle (or supervise the handling of) all centralized administrative procedures for all MSF offices in Jordan (prepare applications for visas, work permits, residency for all MSF international staff in Jordan).
• Personally monitor, follow up on, and troubleshoot all pending procedures at relevant authorities
• Build and maintain a strong professional network at relevant authorities to facilitate procedures and solve upcoming challenges
• Ensure proper filing and documentation of all administrative documents related to his/her area of responsibility
• Report any and all changes/challenges to the direct manager and suggest solutions
• Keep MSF continuously updated on latest developments and changes taking place in governmental departments and relevant administrative procedures
• Support his/her direct manager in identifying legal/administrative challenges and legal interpretation
• Prepare official letters in Arabic and English; ensure accurate and detailed translation of documents (including legal texts and diplomatic correspondence)
• Interpret Arabic-English-Arabic for his/her direct manager at high level meetings on political and legal topics
PROFILE OF THE CANDIDATE
Minimum requirements:
• Jordanian nationality
• Bachelor’s Degree in public administration, law, political science, and/or communication
• 2 years of work experience in an administrative field including carrying out administrative procedures at public authorities in Jordan
• Work experience with an INGO, International Organization, diplomatic entity or internationally operating company in Jordan
• Excellent command of English & Arabic (oral & written, passive & active), with translation/interpretation skills
• Excellent communication, reporting, and negotiation skills
• Diplomatic and public relation skills
• Able to devise and implement efficient internal and external procedures
• Problem-solving nature
•Good computer skills (MS Excel and Word)
WORK LOCATION: Amman, Shmeisani – Jordan
CONTRACT: 5 months fixed-term contract (covering maternity leave)
