Position: Strategic Partnership Senior Manager – South Asia and MENA Countries.
Location: Jordan.
Summary of Role:
Responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships among partners and donors, developing, and implementing strategies that successfully position Pathfinder International within the Asia, Middle East, and North Africa region, resulting in increased revenue for the organization. Working with the President of the region, and in partnership with Country Directors and Business Development, set fundraising targets, creating new fundraising and Business Development opportunities, and working with global Business Development to position for and respond to RFPs and submit proposals. Guide the business development and fundraising lifecycle for generating funding to support the delivery of Pathfinder’s mission in the country. Works with partners, foundations, corporations, and governments to build and expand the country program portfolio revenue to deliver on Pathfinder’s mission and sustain strong country operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Partnership and Revenue Generation:

  • Identify and pursue fundraising/revenue sources across government, corporate, foundation, individual, and other donors, in collaboration with and close coordination with regional leadership and Business Development.
  • Work with President and Country Directors to develop targets for the countries and region
  • Develop overall strategy for how funds will be sourced and developing proactive outreach strategies.
  • Build a detailed landscape of strategic local partners, assessing their comparative strengths and capacities for possible inclusion in the country program’s proposal and business development initiatives. Develops scopes of work and teaming agreements with local partners. Works with Global BD to evaluate roles and Scope of Work for global level partners.
  • Assists in conceptualizing program activities for the country program portfolio. Liaises with institutional, private sector, and individual giving programs on building new donor relationships and generating new program opportunities.

Visibility and Landscape Analysis:

  • Develops local and global material to showcase Pathfinder’s project and country program impact to position Pathfinder for expanded work within the country and across the region. Coordinates with local and global communications to ensure that all stakeholders are kept current with information on Pathfinder’s programs and impact in the country and worldwide, through successful collaboration with global Communications.
  • Stays current on the competitive landscape at the country level for Pathfinder’s sectoral interests. Evaluates comparative strengths and weaknesses and complementarities of organizations working in the region.
  • Maintains intelligence on donor priorities, interests, focal areas and opportunities.
  • Stays current on Pathfinder’s comparative advantage and strengths at both the country and regional levels and advises on alignment with Pathfinder’s organizational strategy.
  • Stays abreast of Pathfinder programs and achievements and provides advice on engagement with local donor representatives, as well as assist with global donor communication through BD global. Monitors project donor and government report development and contributes to answering questions from donors or government about reports and project progress.
  • Corporate capability statements – revises and updates capability statements to be shared with partners and donors as required.
  • Supports regional leadership in donor engagement opportunities and visibility opportunities, including scheduling, logistics, donor briefs, pitch decks, and others as needed.

Required Education and Work Experience:

  • Degree in business management, communications, marketing or related field, or a combination of education and experience in partnership and business development within the SRHR and/or international NGO sector.
  • 10 years’ relevant work experience in partnership and business development with international NGO, donor engagement and/or global health sector.
  • Fundraising principles and practices: Knowledge of corporate and foundation fundraising, including standards and guidelines for writing proposals and managing overall corporate and foundation solicitation efforts.
  • Networking: Ability to network and manage multiple complex pursuits.
  • Communications and public relations: Knowledge and experience in creation of communications materials and coordination of communications events for organization.
  • Research and development: Knowledge of current issues, emerging funding trends and research in SRHR

Preferred Competence and Work Experience:

  • Funding Sources: Knowledge of USG and non-USG donor agencies and their funding priorities and associated regulations.
  • Proposal Development: Ability to develop proposals according to set standards and guidelines.
  • Regulations: Foundational knowledge of USG and USAID rules and regulations.
  • Software applications: Advanced knowledge of MS PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights: Knowledge and experience in the principles of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights, practices, and services, including program strategies and indicators.
  • Analysis and judgment: Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills. Ability to make sound decisions and work with teams to come to decisions.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English and Arabic
  • Diplomatic skills: Ability to influence using diplomacy with key stakeholders. Advanced customer service skills
  • Confidentiality: Proven ability to maintain confidentiality on work-related issues.
  • Self-Management and Teamwork: Ability to lead and work within multi-skilled teams to achieve objectives. Ability to manage stress and learn new systems, processes, and procedures, while adapting to global standards.

Other Information:

  • May assist in the proposal development process on major high value efforts.

Technology to be Used:

  • Uses cellular and office phone, laptop, or desktop computer.

Travel Requirements:

  • Regionally 25%
