Duties and Responsibilities

  • The second in command in our kitchen, following our Executive Chef’s specifications and guidelines also maintain the control of kitchen and meet all environment requirements.
  • Assist the Executive Chef in all areas of preparing roster, kitchen management, ordering and receiving and cost control.
  • Maintain the level of quality and control of Danish Bakery outlet and menu items during the absence of the Chef.
  • Assume the responsibilities of the Chef in his/her absence.
  • Provide functional assistance and direction to the kitchen operation as assigned.
  • Assist the Executive Chef and the management in the preparation of Food and Beverage menu and pricing strategy by taking into consideration the Local requirements, Market needs, Competition, Trends, Recipes, Potential costs, and Availability of Food and Beverage products.
  • Merchandising and promotion
  • Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, Waffles, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes.
  • Monitor the equipment and utensils used for preparing dishes and inform the associated authorities about any existing defects.
  • Experiment with multiple cooking styles to produce high-quality and delicious items such as pastries, cakes and waffles.
  • Frequently monitoring the ingredients stock to detect requirements and place orders ensuring the expenses are within the company budget.
  • Working knowledge of baking with ingredient limitations (pastries that are gluten-free, sugarless etc.).
  • Well-versed in food sanitation principles, preparation standards, and associated regulations needed for proper cooking or baking.
  • Monitoring the final details in preparations to meet customer requirements.

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Hotel Management/ Kitchen Apprenticeship, Culinary Arts or any related field.
  • Master’s in Hotel Management / Kitchen Apprenticeship, Culinary Arts would be an advantage.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 6–8 years of experience in the same or related field.
  • Capable of utilizing the appropriate ingredients according to the preparation.
