Software Engineer Manager

We are looking for a Software Engineering manager with a track record in leading and forming technical teams, is comfortable thinking outside the box and loves to challenge the status quo. Qualifications

  • You have a solid foundation in Computer Science fundamentals, web applications, and distributed architecture.
  • Rich experience in 1 or 2 backend frameworks and languages is a must (e.g. Python, Java, Ruby, Django, Rails, Spring, etc), or an experience in mobile development (e.g. Android, iOS, Unity, React Native).
  • Experience in Ruby, Clojure, or C# (Unity3D) is a plus.
  • You have 6 to 8 years of professional experience in software development in a fast paced agile environment serving a large scale of users with 2+ years of demonstrated experience in leading and/or managing technical teams, preferably in mobile or backend development.
  • You can translate between business goals and technical requirements and can speak the two languages
  • Able to work with cross functional diverse teams spanning product, design, business, and engineering
  • Can develop management frameworks to scale the organization and enhance team dynamics
  • You have a demonstrated strong technical acuity which enables you to be responsible for multiple technical domains which can help you justify technical decisions to technical and non technical observers.
  • You have a strong desire to collaborate and provide coaching & mentorship to software and test engineers.
  • You have demonstrated experience as a people manager with the ability to attract, recruit, and develop technical talent.
  • You have excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical people.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise technical teams in a cross-functional setup, including the active support and development of junior engineers
  • Monitor objectives for your teams to align with sprint goals and priorities
  • Be a significant, hands-on contributor to the team to plan, design, and develop new products and features
  • Deliver code with exceptional quality and security that operates at scale.
  • Coach your team in engineering best practices
  • Coach your team on Agile practices, including Daily Scrums, retrospectives, planning, and grooming sessions, to operate and thrive as a high-performing team
  • Deliver specific and actionable feedback on continuous basis for your team
  • Help your engineers develop and grow into technical experts or future leaders
  • Partner with product, design, QA and other functions to deliver well-shaped products that enrich the gaming experience and can compete on a global scale
  • Sponsor your team’s work, making sure that high performers are always recognized and cared for
  • Develop and enhance processes and frameworks to scale the organization and enhance inter-team dynamics
  • Maintain an open and collaborative team culture where excellence, ownership, and teamwork are embraced
