Build rapport and customer relationships and qualify the customer’s requirements

  • Ensure a ‘Customer First’ culture across the business in all interactions with customers and colleagues.
  • Ask questions and listen to build rapport and understand individual requirements.
  • Understand customers’ needs through discussion to create the closest match possible between the product and the customer’s needs.
  • Present the most suitable options to the customer, adapting their style according to their requirements.
  • Take responsibility for booking test drives and encouraging customers to experience the product.
  • Build a strong understanding of the customer’s needs to guide them toward the best choice.

Agree on the details of the sale

  • Ensures sales opportunities are maximized for the full range of brand services and products, including warranties and service plans.
  • Accurately appraise vehicles to purchase and sell, optimizing the value for the Dealership.
  • Appraise and agree with the sale price genuinely and respectfully, ensuring the Sales Manager’s authorization is discreetly taken when necessary.
  • Introduce brand finance options (via the Business Manager as appropriate) before agreeing to the payment method with the customer, working within brand guidelines to ensure all payments are complete
  • Complete required documentation accurately and register all Sales with Administrative colleagues.

Co-ordinates order and delivery

  • Works with Sales colleagues to maintain accurate stock availability information.
  • Ensure pre-delivery inspections and agreed repairs/servicing are met before delivery.
  • Liaise with Administrative colleagues to ensure product availability fits with brand standards, places the order, update customer records and schedule any complementary services/additional work to be completed on the vehicle.
  • Work with Administrative colleagues to confirm a delivery date and identify any changes to the original schedule.
  • Maintain contact with the customer to ensure they are fully informed throughout the sale and pre-delivery process, notify them of any changes and arrange a convenient handover.

Develops relationships to win new business

  • Develop effective long-term relationships to deliver future business by getting to know customers.
  • Plan and organize own selling activity to secure new business (e.g. by telephonic sales prospects, previous/existing customers, and general inquiries).
  • Generate customer referrals by planning and delivering practical prospecting activities, ensuring leads and inquiries are followed up appropriately.
  • Complete the agreed number of prospecting calls to meet and exceed agreed targets.
  • Participate in planning sales and marketing campaigns and promotions.
  • Share information on new products, features, benefits, and technologies with interested customers and colleagues.

Manage the display of products and merchandise

  • Ensure vehicles are presented professionally at all times.
  • Suggest and make changes to vehicle displays and ensure a clean and tidy sales environment.

Work as a full member of the Dealership team.

  • Work with colleagues across the Dealership to deliver improvements and provide a seamless service to customers.
  • Work with colleagues across the Dealership to investigate and resolve customer complaints.
  • Adhere to legal, environmental, and health and safety requirements, ensuring the safety and security of people, vehicles, and property at all times and reporting any known faults or hazards.
  • Understand and follows relevant aspects of brand operating guidelines.
  • Maintain a professional manner and high standards of personal presentation.
  • Follow operational processes flexibly and thoroughly. Use online dealer systems to report performance against targets.
  • Ensure own work area, vehicles and clothing are kept clean, tidy, and in a safe condition to uphold brand and dealer standards.

  • Excellent command of soft skills and a deep understanding of sales values and principles.
  • Performance-driven and capable of achieving targets under pressure.
  • Apt in dealing with clients and engagingly presenting product data for potential leads.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of sales experience in the Automotive and dealing in the Banking Sector
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in handling Chinese cars
  • Strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Product knowledge & Negotiating skills
  • Technology expertise
  • Understanding and working knowledge of CRM systems
