JOB PURPOSE
Support the Deputy Country Director (Programme) in all issues related to implementation of the Country Strategic Plan (CSP) by acting as an advocate and maintaining liaison with the relevant stake holders within the UN agencies.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
Under the overall guidance and direct supervision of the Deputy Country Director, the Programme Policy Officer (CSP/UN coordination) will be responsible for the following duties:
• Localize the WFP CSP within Country Office (CO) and with UN, NGO, governmental and other partners. Identify key stakeholders to facilitate full CSP implementation.
• Identify strategic linkages between the WFP CSP and GOB priorities and develop roadmap for stakeholder engagement.
• Identify strategic opportunities for WFP positioning within the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSCDF); coordinate participation in related groups and inputs in related reports.
• Act as CO focal person for Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) support to Government Of Bangladesh. Support the development of partnerships and joint events with member states, civil society and intergovernmental organizations to advocate for the SDGs and Zero Hunger on the global agenda and advance WFP priorities and objectives, based on a basic understanding of member states’ dynamics and interests.
• Act as CO focal person for innovation.
• Use data to propose options to managers to expand support from existing partners and to scope new partners, guided by programmatic assessment and context-specific analysis, with the aim to enhance the impact of WFP’s work and diversify the resource base.
• Solicit inputs from other functional entities, Regional Bureau and COs on WFP’s programmatic offering that can gain traction with individual partner audiences; Conduct analysis and draft quality briefs in support of outreach opportunities.
• Support Programme Units with Partnership Engagement strategies and quality control of related outputs.
• Any other duties as required.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: Advanced University degree in Political Science, International Development, Development Economics, International Relations, Law, Marketing, Communications or other relevant field.
WORK EXPERIENCE: Overall 8 years where 6 years of relevant professional work experience in partnership roles.
LANGUAGE : Fluency (level C) in English language.
OTHER SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Has a basic understanding of government and corporate strategies and priorities and experience in developing multi-stakeholder partnerships.
- Has explored new partnership opportunities, provided inputs into developing solutions with prospective partners and explored new areas to scale-up existing activities.
- Has designed and managed all resource mobilization processes and resource strategies, negotiated contract terms and provided resourcing advice to seniors.
- Has gained experience in using technology and digital tools for data collection, analysis and shared data-based insights to add value to all partnerships.
- Has supported creation of external communications and briefing materials.
