JOB TITLE: Field Coordinator

TEAM/PROGRAMME: BPRM – Education

LOCATION: Amman/ Irbid / Karak

POST TYPE: National

CHILD SAFEGUARDING: Level 3 – the responsibilities of the post may require the post holder to have regular contact with or access to children or young people

ROLE PURPOSE: The Field Coordinator is responsible for supporting and supervising the various humanitarian and development response activities for the BPRM project in the three governorates. The project aims to improve access to quality, inclusive, safe and integrated non-formal education services for out of school refugee and Jordanian boys and girls through identifying and mitigating the barriers at the individual, classroom, and community levels.

SCOPE OF ROLE:

Staff directly reporting to this post: Volunteers

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

Support the delivery of effective Programmes, in both development and humanitarian contexts, by:

  • Ensure all planned activities are implemented efficiently, effectively and are of sustainable impact.
  • Ensure the implementation of the planned interventions meets the agreed milestones in a timely manner.
  • Build excellent relationships with the school community members and other stakeholders.
  • Provide effective, innovative leadership in the field to facilitate the achievement of project’s objectives.
  • Provide all logistical requests needed in the field.
  • Provide all logistical requests needed in the capacity building trainings with MoE education staff.
  • Participate in planning and developing with the project staff for the activities and relevant humanitarian response activities if needed.
  • Document projects’ achievements (quantitative and qualitative).
  • Coordinate effectively with support services (Communications, Finance, Logistics, …etc) to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Supporting to develop and conduct the personal development training for staff, volunteers, beneficiaries and locale partners.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly narrative and quantitative reports.
  • Ensure the accuracy of beneficiary data and update it as necessary.
  • Conduct monitoring visits to the program sites on daily basis to ensure the implementation of the activities is on time and to achieve quality results.
  • Supervise the verification process and coordinate with local/international organizations for the special cases and referral mechanism when needed.
  • Conduct an outreach and service mapping for the targeted areas.
  • Report on the work progress, update the beneficiaries’ database and fill all the needed monitoring forms.
  • Deal with the beneficiaries’ records confidentially and professionally.
  • Train the staff and volunteers if needed.
  • Ensure tracking the volunteers’ attendance monthly and fill all the needed forms for their financial payment.
  • Conduct outreach to raise awareness on the services provided by SC.
  • Ensure that the child protection program is implemented in ways that are responsive to beneficiaries, in line with SC’s principles, values and strategic plan and compliant with SC’s procedures.
  • Monitor program implementation and ensure accurate, timely data collection.
  • Coordinate with MoE and other relevant key stakeholders and partners to ensure smooth delivery.
  • Facilitate orientation sessions with the community to help them understand the different components of the project, as needed.
  • Ensure that the integrated holistic approach adopted in the project is well marinated through the implementation of all activities within the different interventions of the Project and report and document lessons learned points
  • Ensure adherence to the Child Safeguarding Policy and reporting procedures.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the Project Officer and Project Manager.
  • Ability and willingness to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of crisis or emergency.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the project Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Bachelor Degree in a social science, management or any related field
  • Four years’ experience with humanitarian organizations and background knowledge in livelihood, child/ youth protection and education.
  • At Least two years’ experience in supervising team in the field
  • At least one-year experience in Training, facilitation and coaching skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Good written and spoken English and Arabic skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within Jordan.
