الوصف الوظيفي

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform skills, knowledge and attitude that promotes quality and safe patient care per operatively.
• Perform duties and responsibilities within the realms of the unit PPG.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient illness and care.
• Carry out tasks per job allocation.
• Maintains harmonious relationship between colleagues, surgeon and ancillary units.
• Do not act as the assistance to the surgeon for cases and surgeon should arrange an assistant surgeon prior to surgery.
• Assume as a Circulating Nurse for the case as assigned with the following responsibilities:
• Ensure the physical safety of the surgical patient while transporting towards the operating theatre as well as intra operatively especially during and throughout the process of anesthesia. Ensure the markings of surgical site (IPSG 4).
• Controls traffic in the operating room intra-operatively.
• Secure patient confidentiality and provides necessary safety devices needed intra operatively.
• Responsible for the care and handling of specimens after the procedure and hand over of specimen to the ward nurse.
• Assists in ensuring patient safety during induction.
• Ability to communicate with patient, staff and patient's relatives effectively and compassionately.
• Rotates duty on all shifts if necessary and takes call as needed.
• Ability to perform the techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation accurately and affectively.
• Is responsible for maintaining the validity of BCLS certification.
• Maintains confidentiality.
• Participate in Community activities as related to health education and immunization campaigns.
• Participates in CQI&PS System Control Activities, Staff Development, Environmental Safety Awareness and Fire and Safety Practices, Disaster, CPR and Infection Control.
• Monitors the Key Process Indicators (KPI) related to the unit on a regular basis.

• Provides care and Support to patient pre-intra and post-operatively.
• Assists the surgeon and the surgical team in performing surgical procedures/operation and helps colleagues when assistance in their area of expertise is required.
