ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
This position will support Nampula Field Office (FO) in performing COMET (Country Office Tool for Managing programme operations effectively), data management particularly related to the food assistance. The incumbent of this position will report to the Head of the Field Office.
JOB PURPOSE
The main responsibility of the incumbent is to ensure optimally support in performing COMET data management in Nampula FO, in line with agreed country office requirements.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
1. Support with providing standard trainings for cooperating partners on WFP operational practices in general, and, in particular, on output monitoring tools and methods in order to support partners to independently self-monitor and to contribute to the visibility of WFP in the coverage areas.
2. Support with consolidating and reviewing distribution reports and invoices from Cooperating Partners on a monthly basis.
3. Ensure timely entry of distribution data in COMET implementation module to help track implementaiton of the program cycle (partnerships, distribution reports, monthly data, etc.) by liaising with the correspondently programmatic areas.
4. Manage the mandatory quarterly Physical Stock Counting exercise at FO level.
5. Support outreach to cooperating partners to gather feedback and comments to support programme reviews and improve services.
6. Follow set emergency response processes and procedures for emergency food assistance.
7. Perform other related duties as required in the districts where WFP have other interventions.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary school certificate/degree in Social Sciences, Agriculture, or in any related functional area is desirable.
Experience: Five or more years of progressively responsible work experience in programme and data management, preferebly in the areas of development or humanitarian assistance.
Language: Fluency (level C) in both English and Portuguese Language.
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE
Has experience collecting programme output data, conducting, and reporting findings to management team, partners or other stakeholders.
Has cultivated productive relationships with local NGOs, government authorities and other implementation partners.
Has performed monitoring, and/or overseen/supported with evaluations and/or assessments.
OTHER SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS
Ability to work in multi-functional team (WFP, cooperating partners, local authorities), and establish effective working relation with person of different national and cultural backgrounds.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
Good knowledge and experience working with data collection software such as ODK, and/or others.
Demonstrated capacity/hands-on experience in capacity building of field staff is desirable.
Good analytical, problem solving, and report-writing skills, and ability to communicate ideas clearly both orally and in writing.

Duration of Contract: 6 months (with a possibility of renewal)
