DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

6.1 Performs a variety of orthopedic related activities including applying and removing dressings, removing sutures/staples, applying and removing casts and splints.

6.2 Assists physician in back office duties including rooming patients, taking vital signs and patient history, and assisting with minor procedures, scheduling appointments, coordinating patient flow, rooming patients.

6.3 Prepares treatment rooms and patients for orthopedic clinics including ensuring

patient information is assembled, radiologic images are set up for viewing, patient medical records are complete and appropriate orthopedic materials are available.

6.4 Instructs patients in the proper use and care of various orthopedic appliances and devices

6.5 Performs basic triage per specific office protocol procedures.

6.6 Prepares and break down orthopedic rooms for clinics; maintain work area and examination/procedure rooms and maintain orthopedic materials, supplies, surgical and other instruments and equipment

6.7 Participates in CQI&PS System Control Activities, Staff Development, Environmental Safety Awareness and Fire and Safety Practices, Disaster, CPR and Infection Control.

6.8 Performs other applicable task and duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.
