ROLE PURPOSE: Health Technical Officer is responsible for providing technical leadership and oversight in implementing all the programme interventions in development. S/he will work with the relevant partners and SCJ programme staff to ensure the timely implementation, quality and relevance of the Health projects. S/he responsible for providing technical guidance to field teams and ensuring that high-quality activities are implemented in a timely manner, ensuring the reporting requirements are met in a timely and quality manner. S/he will liaise with and advise PDQ team in coordination with the project manager concerning relevant technical and quality issues associated with the programme in order to facilitate any necessary changes in programming design. The overall purpose of this job is to strengthen and improve the delivery of quality community health services in the program area of implementation and to strengthen the organizational capacities for managing the community health services and delivering the program goals, particularly ensuring that program goals are met.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Collaborate effectively with all partners and ministries to ensure technical oversight and strategic direction to strengthen the implementation strategies and improving the project.
- Coordinate with the team and support in planning and implementing agreed yearly work plans.
- Provide technical support to the development, implementation and measurement of community health project interventions.
- Participate to the design, delivery and dissemination of the project activities.
- Provide technical assistance to the project team in conducting training needs assessments, and conducting the training as well as producing the training materials
- Provide technical support to the project team in updating and adapting relevant guidelines, materials and tools
- Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of the impact of the program
- Compile reports as per programme schedules and generally assist with documentation of activities as needed.
- Provide regular updates to projects manager on the latest developments in refugee camps and country level related to Community health.
- Perform other relevant duties as required by line manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Essential:
- Bachelor Degree in Public Health – medicine –or any related health field
- Substantial 4-6 years’ experience in the Health sector
- Proven technical skills with effective personal communication skills
- Excellent planning, management and coordination skills.
- Excellent writing, reporting and documentation skills.
- Strong communication (written and spoken), and interpersonal skills in English and Arabic
- Ability and willingness to travel within Jordan.
