FHI 360 seeks a Senior manager Student Services and University to Work Transition for an upcoming higher education program in Jordan.
The senior manager Student Services and University to Work Transition is overall in charge of working closely with local university to facilitate implementation of effective student services at universities and establishment of sustainable public private partnerships. The Senior Manager would also help guide universities in improving/establishing entrepreneurship programs/incubation centers with the help of the relevant authorities in the government and the private sector.
Job Responsibilities
- Working closely with FHI 360 teams and local university leaders, facilitate the labor market assessments (while also engaging the students) and based on the data provide further guidance to universities.
- Guide the development of strategic and operational plans to embed the local partner universities’ strategies/plans in the structure, management, organization, performance and development of student support and workforce development.
- Help local universities establish and promote a culture of strong performance and continuous improvement within Student Services Centers Provide technical support to universities to ensure the Student Services teams are appropriately structured and resourced according to the strategic goals of the university.
- Guide and help universities establish and maintain clear and measurable operational plans, budgets, management reporting processes and operational procedures for student services and work to job transition efforts.
- Working closely with program MERL lead, the COP and university leaderships, set clear and achievable program goals and standards for student services in partner universities.
- Provide technical guidance to university leadership and other departments on matters relating to other student support such as academic advice, welfare advice, mental health advice, disability advice, dyslexia advice, careers counselling and transition and retention programs.
- Help universities establish relationships with the relevant private sector institutions.
- Working closely with university leaders and career center staff as well as students, identify, assess, and recommend potential private sector partners and partnership opportunities.
- Provide technical guidance to universities for the design, formalization, and management of innovative public-private partnerships.
- Provide hands-on guidance to student services center staff on the structuring of relationships/partnerships and outreach to the private sector for internships and job placements.
- Maintain a database of public-private partnership stakeholders and their activities.
- Coordinate with other local organizations and local government bodies to ensure harmonization of public-private partnership activities Monitor the development and implementation of policies and actions related to public-private partnership efforts at universities Develop and implement outreach strategies to the private sector. Other relevant tasks as required
Minimum Requirements:
- Master’s degree in social science, international development, or a related field.
- At least five years of experience in private sector development, and public private partnerships
- At least five years of experience in leading program activities as part of a donor-funded project within an emerging market
- At least five years of experience in working with stakeholders to facilitate PPPs, and
- At least five years of experience in design, implementation, and management of public-private partnerships
- Ability to engage a vast array of partners and stakeholders to reach program’s objectives
- Ability to assess policies and the current implementation environment and writing coherent and convincing reports on why changes are needed
- Strong diagnostic, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent report writing, analytical, and communication skills, including oral presentation skills
- Fluency (written and oral) in English and Arabic
