Roles and Responsibilities:
- Verify the planned movements and distribution of food, cash or non-food items, reporting issues or discrepancies to the supervisor for timely resolution of problems and to ensure that the quantity distributed, and the quality of the operation is in line with WFP standards.
- Maintain information records and monitoring plan documentation, such as records of commodity movements and programme checklists, in order to assist in the effective delivery and distribution of food items or non-food items.
- Collate assistance programme(s) data in accordance with clear direction, in order to support programme reviews and informative decision-making.
- Directy engage and contribute to beneficiary identification, registration, data cleaning and enrolment processes
- Liaise with cooperating partners, local government and community structures, and internal counterparts to gather feedback and comments to support programme reviews and improve services.
- Receive and collate comments and feedback from cooperating partners, beneficiaries, and beneficiaries to support identifying programmatic issues with a view to fostering efficient operations.
- Provide guidance for cooperating partners on WFP operational practices, monitoring tools and methods in order to support them to complete self-monitoring tasks and to contribute to the visibility of WFP in the coverage areas
- Prepare field mission, monitoring reports and impact/success stories to document programme implementation.
- Follow set emergency response processes and procedures for emergency food assistance.
- Follow up on the risk issues at the field levels and provide feedback to the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) officer and head of the programme
- Monitor the scope registration for different activities and provide a report as required
- Support on CP data entry in COMET, beneficiaries’ enrolment in scope as required
- To undertake monitoring activities in all of the locations where WFP has operations including to remote, small towns requiring multi-day visits within Somalia.
- Perform any other duty as requested by the supervisor.
Do you meet the minimum requirements?
Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable.
Experience: Four years of progressively responsible support experience in emergency assistance and humanitarian programme with at least two years working in the field of monitoring. Experience working with INGOs, and Humanitarian organizations is an added advantage.
Language: Proficiency in both oral and written communication in English is a requirement.
Are you competent for this job?
- Has experience in analysing programme output and outcome data.
- General knowledge of WFP monitoring and evaluation systems and standards.
- Willingness to work in hard conditions, including working in late hours, weekends, and other extra time due to emergency.
- Ability to work under pressure with minimum supervision
