ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works closely with psychiatrists to determine medications needed as part of MHPSS service-delivery.
- Liaises with Psychiatry Consultant to ensure medications procured are in line with therapeutic standards and drug controls.
- All the Pharmaceutical management and practice processes at the clinic which involves the movement of medications from the main warehouse to the beneficiaries, also It involves several activities that ensure the right medications are quantified, procured, stored, transported, and dispensed to the right beneficiary.
- Following IMC the pharmacy Management SOP’s.
- Monitors client consumption and ensures heavily utilized medication is kept in stock with adequate supply.
- Takes precautions to avoid stock shortages by anticipating the demand of medications, based on medications usage in clinics.
- In absence of available medication supply in country, works closely with the psychiatry consultant to determine alternative acceptable medications for procurement.
- Conducts quality checks when receiving medications from vendors and regular quality checks on medications, and adherence to medication storage requirements in each location.
- Dispenses medication by compounding, packaging and labelling pharmaceuticals.
- Controls medications by monitoring drug therapies and advising of appropriate medication usage.
- Ensures the dispensing of medications in each clinic is appropriately documented, and medication dispensed is accurately accounted for, in line with compliance standards.
- Ensure the safe storage of medications, and advise mental health nurses and pharmacists to adhere to compliance standards.
- Provides pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of clinics, staff professionals; counselling patients on drug therapies.
- Complies with International Medical Corps drug laws, international guidelines regarding use of psychotropic, and national drug enforcement laws.
- Complies with the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration by monitoring mental health clinics.
- Ensure the maintenance of comprehensive documentation for controlled substances.
- Remove outdated and damaged medications from the pharmacy inventory.
- Maintain current registration.
- Ensure to remain up to date with existing, new and anticipating legislation, advising management on needed actions to ensure compliance.
- Protect patients and technicians by adhering to medications protocols.
- Ensure access to medications is restricted to only authorized persons within mental health clinics.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Distribute medications for patients according to psychiatrist prescriptions and follows up to record the consumptions for each clinic.
- Contributes to team effort by completing additional tasks as requested.
- Organize the development of initial biopsychosocial care plan with focus on any immediate safety concerns.
- Provide psychoeducation to cases as needed regarding psychotropic usage
- Actively participate as part of a multidisciplinary team, including participation in case conferencing
- Enhance a collaborative relationship to maximize the client’s and family’s ability to make informed decisions.
- Conduct review for appropriate utilization of services from admission through discharge/termination.
- Evaluate client satisfaction and quality of care provided.
- Ensure involvement of local authorities, community leaders, and community groups in creating community network which increase access to better health and social services for vulnerable population of Jordan.
- Contribute to the case management file, including assessments, treatment plan and quality assurance measures (HoNOS) and client functioning scale.
- Ensure regular updated documentation and maintenance of client files
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management staff as required; contribute to donor reports and internal IMC reports as required
- Manage administrative cases and all relevant resource coordination pertaining to these cases
- Follow up with the files pharmacist (consumptions rates, clinic supply, distribution plans, and needed special medications).
- Raise medication PR as a part of medication supply chain process to avoid stock rupture.
- Submit all the needed reports about medication for all donors.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy with valid practice license in Jordan
- Minimum 1 year of experience
- Experience in the same role is preferrable
- NGO experience is an asset
- Higher education is an asset
- Very good written and verbal communication skills in English required
