Key Accountabilities

Supervision of Subordinates

– Organise and supervise the activities and work of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area of the activity is carried out in an efficient manner which is consistent with operating procedures and policy.

– Provide on-the-job training and constructive feedback to subordinates to support their overall development.

Budgets and Plans

– Contribute to the preparation of the budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues and areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified.

Incentive Plan Design & Maintenance

– Contribute in the design, implementation and if necessary, fine-tune Staff Incentive plans for CBQ Retail banking SBU based on set guidelines, in order to boost the business performance of the bank.

– Conduct periodic tests to Retail Banking units and staff, in order to ensure efficiency & effectiveness of the incentive systems. Drive campaigns, update reports regularly and manage its incentives.

Performance Monitoring & Evaluation

– Collect information and analysis for the CBQ Retail operation performance & achievement (such as but not limited to Customer’s outstanding against product group, cross selling, new account acquisition, etc.) based on agreed business target and other relevant consideration, in order to provide periodic evaluation result accessible for all relevant parties.

– Communicate performance evaluation & monitoring results for all relevant stakeholders in Retail banking area, in order to facilitate each respective unit/individuals performance management and action planning for improvement.

– Contribute to the preparation of incentive payout through the provision of relevant analysis and monitor incentive payouts for CBQ Retail banking in accordance with agreed incentive budget and respective unit/individual business performance, in order to ensure fair and equitable incentive payment.

– Support the process of planning, organizing, and implementing periodic programs (outside incentive scheme) to recognize and reward outstanding achievements at all levels within CBQ Retail banking operation, in order to boost staff morale to drive business performance

Other Accountabilities

Continuous Improvement

– Motivate subordinates and contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international leading practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

– Recommend improvements to functional procedure and direct the implementation of instructions and controls covering a specific area of activity so that all activities are conducted in compliance with risk, audit, and regulatory requirements while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.

Quality, Health, Safety, & Environment

– Ensure compliance to all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental management procedures and controls within a defined area of activity to guarantee employee safety, compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.

MIS and Reports

– Prepare departmental MIS statements and reports timely and accurately to meet CBQ and department requirements, policies and standards.
