  1. Priorities and ObjectivesEnsure SAFETY at all times.
  2. Take responsibility of any special ODC Logistics related engineering, design, location or scale factors affecting the project, by monitoring packages and solving problems proactively.
  3. Scrutinize Transport drawings and transport dossiers and identify and interpret the implications of any special features.
  4. Ensure Site ODC Logistics are executed within the tender budget / allowances.
  5. Ensure flawless implementation of the Project Logistics Management and Operations plans where relevant to the delivery of ODCs to site.
  6. Ensure scheduling of the Site-relevant ODC Logistics scope and workflow sequence, throughout the project. Ensure that the work is executed in accordance with the agreed integrated schedule.
  7. Identify and account for any deviations from the programme and determine what corrective action is needed.
  8. Ensure that a system for the recording and reporting of work is compiled and ODC material and equipment movements are adhered to.
  9. Effective management, assessment, and mitigation of risk (both threat and opportunity).
  10. Manage all Site ODC Logistics related interfaces both internally between disciplines, internally with the DTV based Project Logistics Teams (all elements) construction & projects and externally with Vendors and Clients.
  11. Compliance with the company and Quality procedures.
  12. Responsible for the development of his/her subordinates and their training to ensure maximum performance, by evaluating subordinates and ensuring their development by training them or sending them on training that is required.
  13. Monitor and control sub-contractors and consultants by holding updated meetings regularly and monitoring progress and consult on any changes.
  14. Ensure that sub-contractors to be used by the project team are properly assessed / approved, and that QA procedures are adhered to by sub-contractors.

  16. Project Site related ODC Logistics Management (Discharge, Heavy Haulage from Port to site, timely unloading at site by Construction, return of rented equipment such as stools, H beams and saddles to Heavy Haulier)
  17. Coordinate the interface between the DTV based Logistics team and the Site based ODC Logistics Function.
  18. Verification of compliance with the Site ODC logistics requirements specified
  19. Verification of capability and competence of site ODC logistics staff and subcontractors employed for the execution of the proposed Site ODC Logistics scope and related activities
  20. Ensure Logistics Service Provider Compliance
  21. Attend monthly working group meetings
  22. Review ODC transport dossiers, transport drawings, stow plans, lashing designs and associated calculations.
  23. Prepare internal discharge reports
  24. Prepare discharge damage reports (if any)
  25. Participation in engineering model reviews as Naval architecture SME
  26. Participation in fabrication yard meetings to review loadout preparations
  27. Participation in meetings with shipowners’ technical representatives
  28. Lead meetings with Heavy hauliers to ensure proposed methodology is technically sound
  29. Undertake periodical route surveys of routes from Port to site
  30. Review vessel classification, drydocking and crane certifications
  31. Inspect all Heavy Haulage equipment & securing materials to ensure it is fit for purpose
  32. Liaise with the Site Construction team to ensure site is ready to receive ODC cargo onto foundations and/or temporary laydown area, including availability of suitable cranes and stools
  33. Attend ODC discharges
  34. Survey cargo upon discharge to ensure zero damage
  35. Ensure ISPS compliance
  36. Liaison with local Port authorities and vessel master/ship owner / vessel agent to ensure timely berthing of vessels and discharge
  37. Providing assurance to internal customers and contractors that all requirements are fully executed / fulfilled and on schedule
  38. Complying with project logistics performance targets and indicators, and subsequently maintaining records, analyzing and reporting of the respective subcontractor’s performance
  39. Manage coordination with Port and site where activities clash or create a bottleneck
  40. Maintain a strong HSE awareness and technical safety in Logistics. Promote safe working practice within the teams at all work sites.
  41. Provide support to subcontractors to ensure that common Logistics and contractual goals and objectives are achieved.
  42. Manage consistent application of the Air Products Logistics standards and compliance requirements across the Logistics Subcontractors
  43. Capture Project Site ODC Logistics Learning and best practices and share with regional Logistics staff
  44. Participation in, or leading investigation of Site ODC Logistics related incidents in the execution of the project related scope
  45. Liaise compliantly and with integrity with Saudi authorities to deal with project site ODC logistics related issues
  46. Timely operational Site ODC Logistics reporting (weekly & monthly)
  47. Attend monthly progress meetings on site when required by management.
  48. Highlight any risks to achieving timely delivery of ODC materials and equipment.
  49. Ensure that all ODC materials & Equipment are delivered to site, ahead of the ROS date.
  50. Promote and maintain strong Teamwork and Respect with/for all parties.
  51. Maintain sound, workable inter-discipline communication and teamwork within the procurement team.
  52. Maintain a strong EPC culture within the project (appreciation and effective communication with the respective parties – Logistics, construction, projects).
  53. Ensure that the complete correct list of equipment and materials is provided for delivery planning purposes including all dimensions and weights.
  54. Induction of all Site ODC Logistics team members to the project on objectives, scope requirements, specification & code compliance, and technical contract obligations.

Qualifications & requirements

Experience: 10 years or more

Degree: Naval Architecture/Transport Engineering/Master Mariner

Candidate requires :

  • 10 years’ experience or more working for Tier1 Project Logistics companies, EPC Contractors, Marine companies, Classification Societies mandatory
  • Experience in a lead role for 2 years or more
  • Experience with capital projects mandatory
  • Experience with complex Marine and Road transport operations for Super Heavy Lifts mandatory
  • Out of Gauge cargo transportation mandatory
  • Project management experience
  • Proficiency in CAD and related software
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) mandatory
