This position plays a big role in creating and providing the best customer experience and satisfaction.
The main responsibility includes but is not limited to greeting and guiding guests & customers to their seats, presenting clean menus in an accommodating and professional manner; and taking and serving orders. Ensuring that guests and customers are enjoying their meals resolves issues if anything occurs.
Duties & Responsibilities
§ Greet and seat guests; present menus and explain the course when asked, and always strive to exceed guests’ expectations.
§ Take names on a waiting list, run the floor plan board, and fill to-go orders whenever necessary.
§ Observe tables and keep track of clean, dirty, and occupied tables.
§ Clean, organize, and stock menus in the host area.
§ Answer phone and answer questions concerning the menu and the GB Cafe culture.
§ Interact with guests as they arrive/ as they leave to ensure a positive dining experience.
§ Make suggestions based on customers' preferences.
§ Take and timely serve orders, up-sell when appropriate, deliver bills and collect payments.
§ Arrange table settings, always keep tables clean and tidy.
§ Check products for quality before serving to customers.
§ Cooperate and communicate with all serving and kitchen staff.
§ Adhere to all relevant health department rules/regulations and all customer service guidelines.
Requirements:
§ High school diploma
§ 1-2 years of fine dining and hotel experience
§ Ability to stand for several hours and able to lift at least 20 lbs.
§ Customer Focus even in a fast-paced environment.
§ Communicate well in English and able to follow instructions.
§ Stress Management/Composure; confident and charming.
§ Drive to help where needed and work as part of a team.
§ Passion for providing extraordinary service
§ Ability to manage a minimum of 7 tables at the same time.
§ Enthusiasm for learning, esp. about great food.
§ Flexibility to work a variety of shifts.
§ Must be a volume expert and can work well even under pressure.
§ Must be upbeat, outgoing, positive, and well-mannered.
§ Must be able to assist guests and possess great guest relations skills.
§ Personal and Professional Hygiene awareness
