The Sr. Network Engineer is responsible to provide user support, problem analysis and resolution, general technical assistance, and training related to the communications network. Operational/Technical.
Technical skills:
• Excellent operating and troubleshooting experience with the following Cisco products:
o Routers (3800, 7200, 7600) Series.
o Switches (6500, 4500, 3750, 3560, 2960)
• Excellent technical knowledge of the following technologies and protocols:
o Multicast (Multicast-VPN)
o Control Plane Policing (CoPP)
o Quality of Service (QoS)
o Routing Protocols (IS-IS, OSPF, BGP)
o Spanning Tree (MST)
Non-Technical Skills
o Selects appropriately from applicable standards, methods, tools, and applications.
o Demonstrates an analytical and systematic approach to problem-solving.
o Communicates fluently orally and in writing, and can present complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
o Facilitates collaboration between stakeholders who share common objectives.
o Plans, schedules and monitors work to meet time and quality targets in accordance with relevant legislation and procedures.
o Rapidly absorbs new technical information and applies it effectively.
o Has a good appreciation of the wider field of information and computer systems, their use in relevant areas, and how they relate to the business activities of the University.
o Maintains an awareness of developing technologies and their application and takes responsibility for personal
development.
o Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, deadline-driven,a complex, team-based environment with conflicting and
competing priorities
o Commitment to quality service and teamwork
o Deals directly with customers on an occasional basis to ensure their satisfaction with services.
المهارات
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in IT-related discipline.
• Minimum one Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) and preferred multiple Expert level Certifications.
• One of the following certifications is preferred:
o ITIL
o PMP
Experience
• 10+ years of professional experience in networking (Routing & Switching, Network Data Center and Communication Service Provider technologies).
