Key Accountability (not-all inclusive)

Under the direct supervision of Programme Associate and overall supervision by the Head of Field Office in Myitkyina, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

  • Liaise with cooperating partners to support effective collaboration, implementation and monitoring of ongoing Nutrition activities.
  • Act as the focal point for the Nutrition activities.
  • Coordinate and communicate with local partners, agencies, NGOs and government institutions to perform accurate nutrition assessments and analyses and to ensure efficient targeting of nutrition assistance.
  • Perform accurate, timely recording of data within the specific technical area of work (e.g. food security and vulnerability assessments) following corporates standards and guidelines;
  • Work and exchange information with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration, implementation and monitoring of ongoing project activities;
  • Assist the Programme Associate in providing technical support and assist in the development and implementation of nutrition activities under Myitkyina Field Office supporting alignment with wider programme policies and guidelines.
  • Provide specialized project management support to Nutrition programmes to ensure that the various activities are performed within the estabilished targets following WFP's policies and procedures
  • Prepare a range of reports and data analysis (eg. Nutrition assistance needs, resource utilization, programme status, performance) and highlight trends/issues ensuring deliverables adhere to corporate standards and quality control for activities under SO3.
  • Ensure and/or perform accurate, timely recording of data for activities under SO3 and consistency of information presented to management.
  • Support Programme Associate and Finance team at Myitkyina Field Office level to prepare quarterly budgets for SO3 activities implementation.
  • Support capacity building of WFP staff, cooperating partners and community volunteers.
  • Act as a point of contract for resolution of a range of operational queries and problems in the implementation of nutrition programme activities (SO3).
  • Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP is able to quickly respond and deploy needed nutrition resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area is desirable.

Experience: Five or more years of working experiences in Programme Management, Food Security Assessment, Market Price analysis, Operation Mapping, Emergency Rapid Assessment/Response and Coordination with Stake Holders. Nutrition and food sector experiences is desirable.

Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English, Myanmar, local dialect and knowledge of local language is an asset.
