KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

Under the direct supervision of Programme Assistant (SF) and overall supervision by the Head of Field Office in WFP Sittwe, the incumbent will perform the following duties: –

  • Coordinate and strengthen the relationship with Government Counterpart Departments to implement multi-sectoral programme to be in line with WFP Country Strategies Plan and strategic planning at all levels as required.
  • Coordinate with other UN/INGOs/CBOs/CSOs in each respective area to enhance capacity of collaboration and sharing of information and brought forward fruitful information to relevant units for further necessary action.
  • Make the proper plan and to collect the data of responsible area in terms of base line data, area profile and other programme related activities and to conduct targeting exercise for all activities.
  • Make the proper plan to distribute food to different beneficiaries. Assess project performance including utilization of resources and achievement of planned targets.
  • Coordinate and monitor the implementation of the assistance programme at the local level, in close collaboration with the Cooperating partners.
  • Monitor, review and report the overall commodity movements such as food deliveries, storage, transport, and distribution at the site and verify if the amounts received have been properly recorded, damaged or suspected to be damaged.
  • Supervise the efficient distribution of food items at the site and ensure proper distribution of entitlements and verify appropriate entitlements are distributed and provide feedback to supervisor and others on the distribution.
  • Assist in the conduct of regular meetings with community leaders, Project Management Committee (PMC) members, any other relevant committee members and implementing partners on the commodity pipeline distribution arrangements, food entitlements, other relevant issues and empowering them with knowledge to achieve our goals.
  • Monitor and inspect FFA/CFA and NFI projects, ensuring that relevant WFP norms are properly adopted, and supervise on-going FFA/CFA and NFI project to ensure that all contracts comply with technical specifications
  • Compile and continually update a list of completed and on-going Food/Cash for Community Asset Creation projects and follow-up activities
  • Work closely with Cooperating Partners (CPs) to ensure that projects contribute to the long-term development of village communities
  • Update and upload Monitoring and Evaluation database on FFA/CFA/NFI activities
  • Perform accurate, timely recording of data within the specific technical area of work (e.g., food security and vulnerability assessments) following corporates standards and guidelines
  • Work and exchange information with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration, implementation and monitoring of ongoing project activities
  • Support communication and activities with local partner, agencies, NGOs and government institutions
  • Perform as a member of office committee, such as Bid Opening Committee, Market Assessment Committee, monthly commodities stock-taking, etc.
  • Perform any other appropriate duties as requested by the supervisor.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Completion of secondary education. Relevant post-secondary qualification will be an added advantage.

Work Experience: Four or more years of responsible programme and monitoring experience. Proficiency in MS Office skills in Excel and PowerPoint.

Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in Myanmar and English.

  • Proficient in the use of office equipment and computer software packages, such as Microsoft Word.
  • Knowledge of work routines and methods to complete processes under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously independently.
  • Proven ability to analytical, communication, negotiation and advocacy skills;
  • Ability to work in a team and establish effective working relationships with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
