Background
Humanitarian operations and programs rely greatly on data and information management services to better identify, analyze, and visualize the needs of affected population and make evidence based strategic decisions in the design of assistance activities.
The position is intended to analyze, document and develop Information Management practices at various humanitarian organizations, in order to optimize their information management regimes. Further to this the position will directly support various clusters (sectors) in terms of improving Information Management practices.
The incumbent is expected to assist in the development of the overall iMMAP strategy in collection, analyzing and publishing information products under the project. This work will entail establishing templates, ensuring agreed-upon standards and branding, and ensure the accuracy of all spatial and non-spatial products, and subsequent analysis, is of the highest standard.
Description of Duties
Key Accountabilities:
· Analyze data (Clean data, check the compatibility, reliability and validity of data, and conduct statistical analysis of data)
· Aid in triangulation and aggregation process (develop an aggregation tool, develop appropriate procedure and tools for triangulation such as confidence level)
· Support iMMAP in the analysis of processed data and information and perform data quality and consistency control.
· Review and analyze all surveys content as requested.
· Participate in Needs Assessment processes, specifically in data processing and data exploration.
· Share in developing and managing Information Management strategies and protocols.
· Establish sampling strategy for different projects based on the purpose of project and availability of information.
· Assist in reporting, visualizing and illustrating the final outcomes of the projects.
· Create infographics, tag clouds, crosstabs, maps, dashboards, reports and all related IM products as requested by the partners or other members of the iMMAP team.
· Produce summary statistics.
· Develop data collection tools as requested by the partners or other members of the iMMAP team.
· Compile and aggregate information elements required to produce standardized information products.
· Attend meetings, conferences, workshops and humanitarian events related to activities of iMMAP
· Monitor overall project progress and identify strategies to respond to challenges and improve products to best meet the project objectives.
· Support other iMMAP teams in any Data and Information Management practices required.
· As part of the iMMAP commitment to organizational learning, and in support of the understanding that learning organizations are more effective, efficient and relevant to the communities they serve, it is expected that the IM Data Management Officer will commit 5% of their time to learning activities that benefit iMMAP as well as individual professional development.

Requirements
- Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Information Technology, Information Management or Computer Sciences.
- Knowledge of the Humanitarian Standards and codes.
- Experience
- In-depth knowledge of database and GIS software, and computer networks, Good knowledge of related hardware and peripheral equipment.
- Very good ability in topographical map reading.
- A minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in humanitarian information management, GIS.
- Understanding of data QA/QC processes for information management are essential.
- Possess advanced skills in MS-Access, MS SQL Server, Web design.

- Ability to coordinate with local administrators, government, NGOs working with community projects and agencies involved in mine-action.
- Ability to work under pressure and long hours at different locations.
- Flexible and adaptable to any situation.
