- Ensure work is carried out competently and effectively, within time and budget constraints, and that project objectives are satisfied.
- . Overall supervision of electrical engineers, designers and technical personnel in the execution of the project.
- . Ensure integrity of workscope and that all work is carried our in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
- . Facilitate and develop a productive and cohesive team.
- . Maintain and facilitate an awareness of HS&E across the discipline within assigned project.
- . Maintain and facilitate an awareness of HS&E in Design across the discipline within assigned project.
- . Promote the understanding and application of risk management techniques within the discipline.
- . Ensure electrical discipline personnel consistently work within the Quality Management System.
- . Monitor and maintain electrical engineering estimating norms.
- . Develop and promote initiatives to improve cost effectiveness and productivity on projects.
- . Assist in the recruitment of competent discipline engineering personnel.
- . Manage project discipline resource requirements.
- . Manage performance appraisals, competency development and career development of assigned personnel.
- . Identify software necessary to enable electrical group to function effectively.
- . Discipline and inter discipline communication development.
- . Prepare electrical cost, time and resource requirement estimates on assigned projects.
- . Identify and review new technologies development which may provide more efficient and cost effective solutions.
- . Manage design change within project budget and schedule framework.
- . Prepare electrical progress and expenditure reports on a project specific basis.
Qualifications
- Around 10 years experience
- Excellent skills with MS Excel, MS Word and MS Access.
- . Able to interpret technical drawings.
- . Ability to create accurate design drawings from base project information.
- . Able to establish and manage effective workplace relationships.
- . Ability to interact effectively with people and use clear, fluent and expressive verbal and written language to convey information and ideas.
- . Knowledge of the requirements for Instrument installations within hazardous areas.
Desirable:
- . Some experience with 3D modelling systems such as PDS, PDMS or AutoPlant.
- . Some experience with advanced engineering design and data systems such as SmartPlant Instrumentation.
