Job Purpose:
Key role within the Global Corporate Finance (GCF) team focused on originating, evaluating and executing Leveraged & Acquisition Finance (LAF) transactions with CIB clients of the Bank. He/She shall work closely with relationship managers in coverage, GCF colleagues, as well as other internal stakeholders to support the development of strategic relationships with a variety of obligors (corporates, family groups, GREs, investors and financial institutions) by identifying solutions and lending opportunities aligned to FAB's risk parameters and targets.
The role shall require:
- Evaluating, structuring and executing new deals along with the coverage & credit team
- Take a proactive approach to deal origination, conduct analysis, propose debt structures and help develop solutions for clients, and help differentiate FAB vis–vis market competitors
- Hands-on role to modelling, documentation and engagement with internal parties and external advisors
- Assist in managing existing loan portfolio and prepare MIS and reports from time to time
- Analyse financing requirements and help develop a point of view in support of senior loan origination team members
- Assist in negotiating terms with borrowers and other lenders, and drive documentation based on LMA standards
- Work in a timely manner, taking ownership of projects once allocated
Budgets Plans & MIS:
Ensure internal reporting is accurate and timely, and support the Head of LAF on strategic initiatives including budgeting and business planning
Internal Collaboration:
Maintain strong internal relations and collaborate with Coverage partners, Legal, Credit and Operations in order to ensure timely execution of transactions
Policies, Systems, Processes, & Procedures
Implement departmental policies, systems, and procedures so that all relevant procedural/ legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality and cost-effective service.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience in corporate lending transactions
- Strong credit assessment skills including excellent debt/cash flow modelling experience, and knowledge of accounting principles
- Some experience of corporate valuation including DCF, CompCos, and LBO methodologies
- Good grasp of legal concepts and loan mechanics, with first-hand experience documenting loan transactions (LMA standard documentation for syndicated, leveraged deals)
- Desire to step up and project manage multi-party financing transactions
- Effective communicator, both written and verbal. Able to present complex topics to a senior audience, with good grasp of details
- Ability to work under pressure, stay calm, and adjust quickly to changing priorities
- Attention to detail and quality of work product
